Majdal Center is proud to cosponsor the @asiansolidaritycollective’s The Portal to Liberation Car Caravan on Saturday, August 22. The Portal to Liberation is a continual campaign to challenge the current police state and culture of policing in order to conceptualize a world without mass incarceration, immigration and deportation for San Diego Asians. Through action and education we will push our community to deepen our commitment to ending the structures that threaten Black ...life. We call on our San Diego Asian communities and non-Asian co-conspirators to enter the Portal to Liberation, in solidarity with Black lives calling us to free ourselves from the police state and culture of policing in order to reimagine a world free from policing and borders. Join us, the Asian Solidarity Collective and others in their upcoming Car Caravan action as we launch the Portal to Liberation Campaign! Earlier today, we joined a webinar hosted by the Palestinian Youth Movement, Our Fight for Liberation: A Conversation With the Families of Oscar Grant & Eyad Hallaq. It was a powerful event with Diana Hallaq, sister of Eyad Hallaq who was murdered by Israeli soldiers in May 2020, and Uncle Bobby X, who is the uncle of Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old Black man who was murdered by Oakland police in 2009. They shared Eyad and Oscar's stories and ways you can take action. #Juneteenth

LIVE NOW! Join PANA & the Majdal Center to learn about essential information on the federal surveillance program called Countering Violent Extremism(CVE). We aim to explain the origins of CVE, how it operates in San Diego specifically, and discuss some tools and strategies we can use to put an end to CVE. We will demonstrate how CVE poses varying threats to the Muslim, immigrant, and refugee communities here in San Diego. https://www.panasd.org/joinpowerhour
