Butterfly dreams and all the Fall vibes. Completed another gratitude journal months earlier than expected I was listening to a video today that commanded one to look around and actually see the dreams that came to pass around you. Times are weird and maybe you’ve been feeling the same as me. Maybe you’re discouraged, fearful, angry or who knows what. But woah look around at the dreams that you used you dream about that are now reality I know I needed to be reminded of ...that today. As I looked at my life and realizing I’ve created things that I used to dream about. Butterfly dreams of finally flying out of the cocoon. Don’t let the crazyiness of this world and social media let you forget that. Also in the words of Big Sean Way up, I feel blessed Just look around! Whipping up some FRESH #mmuneqi for all you workshop attendees this Saturday I always reflect when weighing each ingredient and putting them together. This product is so near and dear to my heart. Hearing your stories and testimonies makes me feel so blessed. ... I’ve been using this recipe for myself for years and for clients as needed. This past year during the pandemic, I jumped to sell to everyone. As an herbalist, this year has bought a different perspective and growth for myself. Times where I have felt overshadowed or felt the need to elevate myself as a legit voice at a time where preventive medicine needed to be so desperately talked about. I’ve had to become comfortable sharing when needed and staying quiet when sensed to. At the same time, I’ve clung to and seen that herbal medicine works. I’ve clung knowing Ayurveda and TCM predates most healing systems. I’ve also became okay knowing the right clients will come who need these systems. I hope we have all healed and learned something this year on whichever journey we have taken.

I present a special meditation practice for Dinacharya week six! Dinacharya are daily rituals that help promote healthy living and immune system function. Meditation is a big part of Dinacharya as it prepares the body for the day/night depending on when you do it. ... One of my favorite practices is Trataka or concentrated gazing. In the very beginning of my mediation practice, it was super hard for me to focus and not move to my next to do list. Having a visual like Trakata has helped me significantly. By gazing on a single point of focus (most commonly a candle flame) can help memory, concentration and overall eye health. It is important now more than ever to take care of our eyes with uprise of blue light and virtual living. Join me in this meditation if you’d like: Find your favorite candle and begin to light it with intention. Find a comfortable seat where you can comfortably gaze at the candle flame. Close your eyes and find your breath. Slowly open your eyes. Begin to gaze at the flame just above the wick. Doing your best to focus and avoid blinking, but never straining. Once your eyes begin feeling that need to blink, close your eyes and keep that image of the candle flame in your mind. You may see a dot or the flame. Continue to focus on that middle point with your eyes closed and continue to steady your breath. When the image disappears, find your regular meditation practice. Dinacharya week five! Dinacharya are daily rituals that help promote healthy living and immune system function. Hope your new year has been magical! I’ve been spending way less time scrolling and instead more time living. Things have been CRAZY with my final herbal clinical presentations which makes dinacharya way more important for me. Maybe life has been crazy to you too?... This week is the practice of abhyanga massage. This practice I put all of my clients on. It’s so simple and the perfect way to give yourself self care. Abhyanga is taking warmed oil (coconut for pitta, sesame oil for Vata, minimal olive oil for kapha) and massaging it into your skin from the toes to the crown of the head before bathing/showering. Ideally, it should be a minimum 5 minutes but 20 is even better. This practice promotes healthy lymphatic drainage which is pivotal for healthy immunity. This practice also improves sleep, vision, anti-aging, and stimulates the internal organs. I like partnering mine with dry brushing beforehand. Shameless plugging the @mykitsch towel scrunchie.
