It has been quite a turn of events within the past few months for the real estate market, despite the pandemic. At the beginning of 2020, we saw many sellers taking their homes off the market in fear of the unknown and unpredictability. Then during the summer, we began seeing something extraordinary happen: home sales suddenly surpassing pre-Covid levels and rising. We now see homes being put on the market and quickly receiving multiple offers then closed on within short periods of time. It’s funny how New Years often heralds the start of some kind of new habit that we almost instinctively know we’re going to fail at , not stick with and is not realistic or achievable. But we still do it, right? It’s ok - we’re all human. We do it because Jan 1st IS a new start. It IS a new year. It IS a good opportunity to have a new beginning, form new habits, press reset & so on. And it doesn’t really matter if you fail. It’s about committing to it, getting fired up abou...t it, telling people that you’re going to do it, believing you CAN do it. And...just doing it. And if you fail, at least you tried & you failed forwards! That said, no one sets out to fail. Not least me. And so, even though I’ve set myself tons of goals that I’ve not achieved & although I’ve promised myself to do so many things that I haven’t stuck to, there are things that I HAVE been successful at that have all shared something in common. No, it’s not desire, competitiveness, drive, passion, perseverance, stubbornness or anything like that...
