My sweet collector purchased this painting to remember her husband whom she lost to cancer. "Watching hummingbirds in flight is a magical experience, especially when they encounter another hummingbird. They will both hover and gaze at each other for a few momentsbefore darting away in a burst of speed. The brief interlude of that encounter inspired this pieceand reminded me of the Frank Sinatra classic 'Come Fly with Me'. Flight is a metaphor for joy. This painting is an invitation to share that joyand a magical journey with someone special. In those special moments, everything around us is a blur. Time itself seems to stand still. That is the sensation that this painting is meant to convey. Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away."

A special commission completed for a sweet couple in Marin. It was a wonderful journey working with them to create the perfect piece of art for their home. I have chosen to feature Mount St. Helena in this composition, which emerges grandly above Sonoma county. Looking forward to seeing Silent Majesty hung in their beautiful space.
