According to traditional Chinese medicine, everything we put into our bodies (natural things at least) have medicinal properties. Tea in particular is very healing, especially the black and green varieties. Benefits include invigorating the constitution, opening the acupuncture meridians, relieving thirst and cooling. ... Tea is also a great digestive aid, helping to cut fats and oils after a heavy meal #acupuncture #acupuncturist #acupuncturists #acupunctureworks #acupuncturelife #acupuncturetherapy #acupuncturepoints #acupuncturestudent #cosmeticacupuncture #facialacupuncture #acupuncturefacelift #traditionalchinesemedicine #traditionalmedicine #chineseherbalmedicine #herbalmedicines #herbalism #integrativemedicine #naturalmedicine #ipreview See more

Neck pain... we all get it sometimes. Here’s an easy solution you can try at home when you’re having neck pain or stiffness... #acupressure - it can help! ... Scroll to the next picture - that’s the Acupuncture point Luo Zhen. This acupuncture point is specific for neck pain & works contra-laterally (meaning if your neck hurts on the left - you use your right hand, and visa-versa), but I usually like to do both sides. Use the picture to find the point, pressing in firmly until you find a tender spot. Hold for 30-60 seconds while gently stretching your neck from side to side. Repeat as necessary If you find your neck still hurts after doing this a few times throughout the day, DM me for an appointment. #acupuncture #acupuncturist #acupuncturists #acupunctureworks #acupuncturelife #acupuncturetherapy #acupuncturepoints #acupuncturestudent #cosmeticacupuncture #facialacupuncture #acupuncturefacelift #traditionalchinesemedicine #traditionalmedicine #chineseherbalmedicine #herbalmedicines #herbalism #integrativemedicine #naturalmedicine #ipreview #acupressure #acupressurepoints #acupressuretherapy #neckpainrelief #neckpain #stiffneck See more

The Du meridian. One of the 8 extraordinary meridians. Also called The Governing Vessel. It’s main functions include strengthening the back, nourishing the spine & brain, treating febrile diseases (think colds and fevers), and treating mental disorders and seizures. ... The Du calms the mind, but also stokes our deepest passions. In TCM it controls our central nervous system and is the force behind our self growth and development. Some of my favorite points to use on this channel are: Du4 - for low back pain and to strengthen the Kidney yang Du15 - used for speech disorders like stuttering Du20 - for clearing the mind and improving memory, lifting the qi and relieving headache Du23 - for cold and allergy symptoms Du24 - for calming the mind and giving you that great acupuncture buzz #acupuncture #acupuncturist #acupuncturists #acupunctureworks #acupuncturelife #acupuncturetherapy #acupuncturepoints #acupuncturestudent #cosmeticacupuncture #facialacupuncture #acupuncturefacelift #traditionalchinesemedicine #traditionalmedicine #chineseherbalmedicine #herbalmedicines #herbalism #integrativemedicine #naturalmedicine #dumai #duchannel #dumeridian #governingvessel #ipreview See more

As I’m sure many of you know, October is pregnancy & infant loss awareness month. Miscarriage in particular is still a very taboo subject, one that many women are not comfortable bringing up or discussing - even with their close friends and family. But it shouldn’t be - It’s estimated about 10%-15% of known pregnancies will end in miscarriage, with more happening before a woman is even aware she was pregnant. While it is emotionally and often physically hard to deal with, ...it’s nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. Most women who experience a miscarriage WILL be able to get pregnant again and deliver a happy, healthy baby. If you find yourself struggling, Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine can help you reach those goals. I myself lost my first pregnancy to miscarriage. I assumed getting pregnant a second time would be as easy as the first time... but it wasn’t. We struggled. So I turned to acupuncture and Chinese medicine - I used a specific combination of Chinese herbs, specially coordinated to each phase of my menstrual cycle to finally get me there. And a year later almost to the day, I found out I was pregnant with my son Robby, smiling at you in this picture So how does that work? Well, acupuncture and herbs help to balance hormones, improving ovarian function, blood flow to the uterus, and insulin sensitivity (especially helping ladies suffering from PCOS). These are not just claims, but backed by scientific studies. In fact most fertility clinics now recommend you see an acupuncturist while undergoing treatment. So please... don’t give up, don’t lose hope. If you haven’t tried acupuncture on your fertility journey, what do you have to lose? It may not feel like it, but it’s fall (and has been for almost a month)! In traditional Chinese medicine autumn is the beginning of the yin cycle and associated with the element of metal. Days get shorter as nights grow longer, it’s a time of harvest. Metal governs organization, communication, and setting limits and boundaries. Use this time to finish up old projects and prepare for the upcoming winter months. The metal element is associated with sadness and letting go.... If you are one of those individuals who has a hard time letting go of long summer days and continuous sunshine, it might be a good time to squeeze in some extra acupuncture appointments to help with that emotional process. Once the weather begins to change it’s important to take extra precautions to protect yourself from viruses and colds. Dress appropriately to avoid drafts and cold, and switch from cold raw foods to warming nourishing foods to support your wei qi (which is in charge of your immunity). Come in for a tune up to keep your qi balanced and strong #acupuncture #acupuncturist #acupuncturists #acupunctureworks #acupuncturelife #acupuncturetherapy #acupuncturepoints #cosmeticacupuncture #facialacupuncture #acupuncturefacelift #traditionalchinesemedicine #traditionalmedicine #chineseherbalmedicine #herbalmedicines #herbalism #integrativemedicine #naturalmedicine #autumn #metalelement #tcm #yin #ipreview

When talking to patients the concept of acupuncture meridians often comes up. So what are they? In traditional Chinese medicine they are passageways that energy flows through. Most acupuncture points are located on one of the 12 major meridians, and these meridians also connect to organ systems. The 12 major meridians are the Lung Channel, Large Intestine Channel, Stomach Channel, Spleen Channel, Heart Channel, Small Intestine Channel, Bladder Channel, Kidney Channel, P...ericardium Channel, San Jiao Channel, Gallbladder Channel and Liver Channel. Energy travels through these meridians in a specific way, and each channel has its own specific functions. When you get acupuncture, we are adjusting the energy flow through these pathways to help you feel your best! #acupuncture #acupuncturist #acupuncturists #acupunctureworks #acupuncturelife #acupuncturetherapy #acupuncturepoints #cosmeticacupuncture #facialacupuncture #acupuncturefacelift #traditionalchinesemedicine #traditionalmedicine #chineseherbalmedicine #herbalmedicines #herbalism #integrativemedicine #naturalmedicine #tcm #ipreview via @preview.app See more

I get questions sometimes wether we treat kids, and the answer to that is yes! Treating a small child with acupuncture is different than an adult - usually IF needles are used at all, they are not left in. An in and out method is used instead. However a lot of the time acupressure and channel massage is enough. Kids respond pretty quickly. When Robby (pictured) has indigestion its hiccups he loves a good channel massage ... #acupuncture #acupuncturist #acupuncturists #acupunctureworks #acupuncturelife #acupuncturetherapy #acupuncturepoints #cosmeticacupuncture #facialacupuncture #acupuncturefacelift #traditionalchinesemedicine #traditionalmedicine #chineseherbalmedicine #herbalmedicines #herbalism #integrativemedicine #naturalmedicine #acupunctureforkids #babiesofinstagram #cutebaby See more
