More fun photos of our closest to the pin water balloon launch today
Our second event of the summer is What’s on a Golf Hole. Lots of fun activities planned today with the hope of keeping the girls excited about golf and making new friends with a common interest. A great group of girls are here so I’m sure we’ll have some fun and hopefully learn a thing or two . Today’s charm for their bracelet is the golf ball. Special thanks to my wife a Terrie and daughter Kelsie for helping and sharing in the fun
What’s on a Golf Hole.. is our event of the month..our girls were shown a diagramed a hole with all the different challenges on it. We discussed what incurs a penalty stroke and what doesn’t as well as how to deal with cart paths on the course. The girls then personalized two golf balls, one to keep and one to play the scramble with. When the girls finished decorating, we went to the 10th hole to review what they just learned
After discussing what’s on a golf hole we played the tenth hole by throwing our golf balls over the water hazard to the green. Wherever their ball landed they learned what to do next..if they threw the ball out of bounds they had to do it again with the stroke penalty. If they threw it and it landed on the cart path, they were shown how to play your next shot without a penalty stroke. If they threw the ball in the water, the girls were informed of all their options and we went to the drop circle. Once they all rolled their ball in the hole they were responsible for reporting their score correctly. A fun way to learn some rules for sure
The girls broke up into teams and we played the water ballon challenge. Which team can get the most balloons from one side of the tee box to the other. They sure didn’t mind when the balls burst on them, I think they may have popped some on purpose great team work and camaraderie by the girls. Great fun
Since we had some left over balloons we did a closest to the pin contest by launch the water balloons at the flag stick.. sooo much fun..and refreshing
During the scramble portion of the event today, the girls used their personalized golf balls that they decorated at the start of the day. It’s fun to watch the girls improve and develop friendships as they play together.
We always end our events with some pizza and a word search puzzle. Thank you to all the girls who came out to participate
Rotation is much better when your left foot stays on the ground
Girls Golf of North County-Leaving the Course Better Than You Found It. Special Thank You to my wife Terrie and our friend Margie for helping the girls decorate and plant their succulents
