Please join us for the second of two workshops that are helping us to reimagine the California Street Cable Car Turnaround. For us, this project has sparked a lot of great conversations and allowed us to think about the future of our neighborhood in a post-COVID world. In this second workshop, we will build upon what we learned from the first workshop, as well as share some ideas and solutions that we came up with after meeting with SFMTA and Public Works. Missed the first w...orkshop? No worries! Join us anyway! Background: Lower Polk Community Benefit was awarded a grant from the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) to complete a planning study to reimagine a more pedestrian-friendly and beneficial to the neighbor Cable Car turnaround on California street between Polk and Van Ness. The California Street Cable Car line is the oldest remaining line in the city, a historic asset that connects tens of thousands of people with the Polk Street corridor, yet its terminus just off Van Ness is just a sudden endpoint in the middle of a busy street. Join Lower Polk Neighbors, Lower Polk CBD, Discover Polk CBD, and INTERSTICE Architects for a fun and interactive workshop to help us reimagine what the terminus for the California Street Cable Car could look like. Help Us to Re-Imagine: Pedestrian Safety Polk Street Connection Spirit of Place & Neighborhood Celebration of the Cable Car When: Thursday, February 25th 6:30pm - 8:00pm Where: Zoom, Register here: https://bit.ly/3rKN9D0 For more information visit lowerpolk.org/cablecar
