My clients moved in to a temporary rental about half the size of their old home while they shop for their new one.they will be here for the next year or so and are definitely missing the space! Their 18 month old toddler kept hiding out in her closet and reading to her stuffed animals, which gave me an idea. Since we can’t do custom closets in a rental, I wasn’t going to let that space go to waste! We did a little reading nook. This library bench created extra storage, more p...lay space and not to mention.. it’s so darn cute! . . . You may be thinking that the closet in the before picture looks much fuller and wondering where everything else went. As I went through everything with my clients they realized much of what they moved, they didn’t need or want anymore. Countless boxes went to charity, we even did an estate sale AFTER their move! Love a good closet make over! I used the extremely affordable IKEA ALGOT system for this one... oh and for the empty wall? I discovered IKEA's TRONES. Advertised as a shoe cubby: I used the the shallow cabinet for underwear, socks, swimsuits and small accessories.

The best part about this before and after? We did this months ago, and It’s still beautifully tidy! *I usually recommend exposed shelving for storage when possible: it makes it easier to see everything you have...
