Rosie McCann's is shuttered...
Yes there is something for the adults to do this evening for Halloween in downtown Boulder Creek! Kiddos are welcome too! Tonight join the community in costume for live music from Anthony Arya & Chasing Ophelia for the music of the Grateful Dead on the lille aeske stage outdoors at Aum & Akasha Apothecary on Forest Street! 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, 125 Forest Street, downtown Boulder Creek. Free, donations for the band accepted. Aum & Akasha Apothecary will be open late, and lill...e æske will be hosting a beer & wine bar. Locally made small bites will be available, and we also encourage you to bring your own from a local restaurant. Remember, keep it safe by wearing a mask (except when sitting & eating) and dance two guitar lengths apart! Costumes a must! BC folks know how to make a gathering fun & safe, because we rock! (and we know it’s how we get to continue to do stuff like this) Can’t wait to see you Boulder Creek!
Live music out-of-doors this weekend and into the shadow months. It's simply good Irish weather. Get your woolies out as we delve into November and let's celebrate being here on the planet. This weekend should be quite balmy. (And yes, there's something for the adults - and the kiddos - to do in downtown Boulder Creek on Halloween!)
Bluegrass, Old Time, and Americana music Thursday afternoons from 1:00 to 3:00 on KBCZ 90.1 FM Boulder Creek Community Radio and streaming worldwide at www.kbcz.org.
"The fire in the midst of Covid-19 was a manifest crisis that seared home the reality that the world we knew is a memory. The fire will scar our memories, just as it has scarred the landscape, for years to come. But even in its scarred state, the beauty of the forest endures. And we, like the roots of the redwoods, will sprout new life." Join us for the closing reception of our art exhibit "Rising from the Flames". The fired Raku ceramics of Andrew Irvine have been inspirational for us all month. Also, take a viewing of our ongoing exhibit featuring the artifacts from the CZU Lightning Complex Fire. Our guest musician will be local singer-songwriter, Dave Miller of Nomad & Drifting Compass. With Amish and Mennonite roots as a songwriter, his songs are filled with thought-provoking stories and troubadour wisdo...m that he experienced and learned throughout his travels on the road and in his journey through life. Dave's music is described by Aaron Carnes of the Good Times as "Heart-on-sleeve, travel-worn original songs as well as an eclectic array of covers in a Rock & Roll, Alt-country, and Americana style." Dave Miller's music will be performed on the truckbed outside of lille aeske and we will allow COVID safe viewings of the artwork with access to our full bar menu and food items. Please remember to bring your masks and maintain 6 feet social distancing at all times. See you there!

"No matter where we go, to all the ends of the globe, wherever life takes us, we take that little town with us. We might not all be able to be there physically right now, but we are definitely all there in spirit." - Karrie Klemm Read this story in the San Lorenzo Valley Post in print through October throughout Santa Cruz County and online: https://slvpost.com/letters-majestic-places
