I interrupt our silly spooky ghost moment to show you this absolutely ridiculously insanely gorgeous family photo. Sunsets this time of year are !

It's peak spooky season, so I thought I'd tell some original ghost stories. They're just.. not the kind you might think.

As I capture more family sessions during this time of year, I am reminded that the pillars of strength and guidance in our families are the grandparents (and sometimes great grandparents) we're lucky enough to still have with us. They have already raised a generation of children that not only survived, but are thriving and growing families of their own. They now get to share in the upbringing of a second generation of children that walk the family name and family values into the future. The love that Linda and Ken share for one another has trickled down through those generations and provided the perfect example of commitment, compromise, appreciation, and partnership. After nearly 40 years together, they still choose each other every single day, and that is truly something to celebrate. <3

Golden hour smooching never hurt anyone I love doing engagement shoots for y’all who book me for your big day. Great opportunity to feel each other out, get to know each other etc. Majority of the time we leave having become friends because we get along so well. My clients feel comfortable when I’m behind the camera snapping away. Laughing, intimate moments and more can be expected when you book me. No ones as kick ass and awesome as me

Last week I captured a couple that was getting married for this exact reason. No friends, no family, just a rushed civil ceremony because they didn’t know if they’d be able to after the Supreme Court nomination was confirmed. There were 4 other LGBTQIA+ couples at the city building doing the same thing. And that was just in the hour we were there. This entire situation is heart breaking. If you’re straight and partnered, imagine being told by some random judges and legislator...s that you aren’t allowed to love the person you’re with and legally combine your lives. Getting married isn’t for you, it’s just for people who have a traditional relationship and family. If you’ve never had a court of law regulate your body, your love, or debate your humanity, you’re privileged. This is horrid and unacceptable and I’m so sorry for all of my past and future LGBTQIA+ clients who are feeling the sting of this particularly hard. I’d have hoped in 2020 we’d be past this, but clearly we’ve got a long way to go.

Nothing quite captures an intimate moment like a black & white photo and some fairy lights. You can’t fake love like this folks. It’s just not possible. Shedding a tear or two in unavoidable in a moment like this. I can’t help but find myself tearing up during a wedding when witnessing something as beautiful as two souls like Holly and Dylon finding one another. While I can be like another friend at your wedding and having fun throughout your big day, I can also disappear into the shadows to capture moments like this without it feeling like someone’s right over your shoulder disrupting the moment.

Here’s another amazing look from the portrait session I had at the airstrip Some people look at this and see how beautiful it looks. Little do people realize the effort put into shots like this. I’m typically tucked away under the veil trying to get positioned just right. Camera in one hand, veil in the other and sometimes even an assistant to hold it JUST right. It’s all worth it though when you get the perfect shot

Knowing you’ve found your soulmate is the most rewarding feeling in the world. To know you’ve found someone that’ll always be there, to celebrate the great days with and to help you through the worst days. As a photographer I get to witness these things first hand. It’s such a rewarding experience. It’s been an honor to be trusted by the LBGTQ community to capture their special day.

this photo brings me so much joy. As some of you may know, 10/10/2020 was THEEEEE premier wedding date this year. It broke my heart that I wasn’t able to capture my friends Brian and Kirby’s wedding However . . . my kick ass team member @rebeccaskidgelphoto was able to capture their day and knock it out of the damn park! Thanks girl! You fucking rock! My friends looked SO in love, having SO much fun and looking relaxed during their special day! Such a beautiful photo, still jealous I couldn’t be there but couldn’t have felt better about who captured it in my place

I don’t he them for every wedding but my GOD I love it when there is a cute little boat for my couples to get cozy in! It’s just so adorable! Knock on wood but I’ve never had clients fall into the water. However, it would make for some kick ass candid photos
