Margo Sanchez, mom to Honey Medders, was well known at Los Altos Softball for always having a smile, being willing to help, and cheering for each girl as if they were her own. She will be missed terribly. If you can help in anyway, please do. https://www.gofundme.com/f/funeral-expenses-for-margo-sanch

The City of Long Beach has canceled permitted youth sports groups for the weekend due to air quality not at levels recommended for athletics. We will not be able to start our Fall 2020 development program on Sunday. We will attempt to start on Monday if allowed. For the baseball side registration is closed and teams have been formed. You will hear from your coach this weekend. On the softball side we still have some spots open and need volunteer coaches. Thank you all for your support and patience. LAYBS Board of Directors

One of our LAYBS Family members shares his thoughts which we’re sure a lot of us can relate with right now.
Long Beach 6th Tool 2018-2020 - It's a little bit long, but if you are bored and want something baseball to watch, this will do the trick. Hope everyone is staying home and staying safe.
LAYBS continues to adhere to local and state government in regards to the COVID-19 situation impacting all of us. The city has extended the suspension of all user groups at the city parks until April 19. The mayor has also announced new and stricter guidelines in regards to park usage. Please check the City of Long Beach website or their social media sites for those changes. LAYBS will continue to monitor any changes and will update our families when appropriate. We wish health and safety to everyone in our community and look forward to the day when we are all back at the fields.
We know these times have been tough and we want to help as much as possible under the current state guidelines. There are some perishables that we want to make care packages with for LAYBS families that could use the help. Megan will be at the @laybs_snackshack Saturday from 9am until 11am handing out bags of food. Anything not picked up with go to the mission.... Please stay safe and we hope to see you all out on the fields as soon as possible.
PBS Streaming Ken Burns’ ‘Baseball’ for Free Amid Delayed MLB Season As many of us hunker down in the days ahead, it’s important that we find things that bring us together, and show us our common humanity, documentarian says.
Due to the recent rain storm in our area all games and practices are canceled through the weekend at El Dorado Park. Batting cages and bullpens are closed as well. Our board of directors met Thursday evening in regards to the Corona Virus. A league wide email to our families will go out today with information on decisions that were made pertaining to LAYBS.
