Due to COVID, we will be hosting a Drive-Thru Parade for Autism at Fire Station #1. This community event will be for children, teens and adults living with disabilities and their families. Our local first responders will be socially distancing by their equipment as you drive thru the back parking lot. This is designed to be a low-stress visit with no lights and sirens for a comfortable, low sensory experience. We ask everyone to remain in their vehicles at all times.

Fire experts recommend you replace your smoke detector batteries twice per year. A good rule of thumb is to replace them when the time changes in the fall and spring. On March 14, the clocks will "spring forward." When you change your clocks, don't forget to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as well. Remember that smoke detectors save lives!

GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES REGIONAL STAY-AT-HOME ORDER On Thursday, December 3rd, Governor Newsom announced a Stay-at-Home Order for regions of the State that have lo...w Intensive Care Unit (ICU) capacity levels. This new Order will be triggered when any region’s ICU capacity levels drop to 15% or less. Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the region that includes Merced County, it is expected that this Order will be triggered locally in the near future. When triggered, this Order would require the closure of bars, wineries, personal services (including hair salons, nail salons, barber shops, tattoo parlors, etc.). Schools that currently hold waivers from the State will be allowed to remain open. All restaurants must close both indoor and outdoor dining services but can continue to provide take-out and delivery options. All critical infrastructure, such as retail stores, must operate at no more than 20% capacity. It is highly recommended by Health Officials to limit gatherings especially with others who are not from your household. Please continue to wear a face cloth covering while out in public, practice social distancing, wash your hands frequently, and stay home if you are feeling sick. Today the Los Banos Fire Department was visited by the Los Banos Community 4H Club. This fantastic group of young community leaders provided special gift packets that they put together to thank our Fire Fighters for their service. Los Banos Community 4-H has plans to visit every Fire Department within Merced County to show their support. The Los Banos Fire Department is very thankful for their generosity, hard work and dedication to making our community a better place.
