Racers, please make note of the track closure at VSC through March 31. In compliance with USAC's suspension of race permits through April 5, we have cancelled the April 4 Omniums, April 5 Time Trials, and April 6 Monday Night Sprints. Registrations will be refunded within the next day.

#Repost @velosportsctr MARCH RACING UPDATE: Yesterday our parent facility, the @dignityhealthsp, announced the postponement of all events for the remainder of March due to the threat and impact of coronavirus. As such, the VSC must unfortunately postpone all @lavelodrome (LAVRA) events for the remainder of March. This includes LAVRA racing and skill clinics on 3/21, 3/28, and 3/29. We are cautiously optimistic for an April restart, but in this fast developing issue we al...l must be patient as we see how things take shape. This decision was not easy and we sincerely thank event sponsors @fatrackcycling, @high_desert_nutrition, and all concerned for their understanding. Regular VSC training and coached sessions remain open. Should that change we will make that announcement here and on our other outlets. . As a precautionary note, please be advised that we have added additional hand sanitizers to our infield and we have increased overall facility cleaning as described in yesterday’s announcement. In light of the Coronavirus threat, the LA Velodrome Racing Association (LAVRA) would like to make the following announcement to all participants concerning the upcoming season, in addition to the measures and precautions announced earlier by the Velo Sports Center. The 2020 spring season of racing and clinics is set to proceed as planned. We are, however, relaxing our refund policy for pre-registration for LAVRA events through the end of our spring season, the June 8th Monda...y Night Sprint race. To maximize flexibility for our racers, refunds may be requested from registration up through the day of the race. While VSC is taking extra precautions (detailed in a separate communication: https://mailchi.mp/velosportscenter/vsc_coronavirus), each racer must make their own personal evaluation of the risks to themselves and their community before deciding to attend an event at the velodrome. While we are very excited for the upcoming season and our new race programming, we understand that these are unpredictable times and personal safety must take priority. Please let us know if you have any feedback you'd like to suggest, and we hope to see you out on the boards. If there are any changes to the race programming this spring, we will communicate them through social media, BikeReg, and email.

LAVRA Time Trials start Sunday, March 1st. There's no day-of registration for individual events and registration closes Saturday, Feb. 29th at NOON. Seeding: New for 2020 Racers are required to enter an approximate time for each event at the time of registration. These times will be used for seeding purposes to minimize interference due to passing for rider safety. ...
