Summer is here, and so is the time for all kinds of fun in the sun. It’s also a time to take certain safety measures to ensure continued good health for your eyes. http://www.lobue2020eyes.com/summer-eyecare/

School’s almost out for summer, and it’s a great time to take a look at your child’s vision. If your child is having trouble with vision, summer fun will be harder to come by as everything from sports to video games to reading will be harder to keep in focus- literally! Many times children keep quiet about symptoms they are experiencing or sometimes they don’t realize their vision isn’t up to par. http://www.lobue2020eyes.com/childrens-eyecare/

Join us at Maurice Car’rie Winery on April 28 for the Temecula Sunrise Rotary’s 31st annual Run Through the Vineyard. You can enjoy a scenic 2K, 5K, or 10K run through the winery and have a wine tasting as well. Most importantly, the Run Through the Vineyard is the Temecula Sunrise Rotary’s biggest fundraising event. The proceeds will help fund some of the many community service projects the Rotary is involved with, such as literacy programs for elementary schools and scholarships for at-risk youth. http://www.lobue2020eyes.com/vineyard-run/

So you’ve had your eye exam and your doctor has requested that you return for additional testing. What are these tests and why are they important? Each type of special testing is a crucial diagnostic tool used by your doctor to screen for or manage a variety of conditions. http://www.lobue2020eyes.com/special-testing/

Does your computer give you a headache? Have you ever experienced your vision blur during a long work session or feel the need to rub your eyes? Then you may already be familiar with computer vision syndrome, also called digital eye strain. If you spend two or more continuous hours a day using a device with a digital screen, you may be at risk. http://www.lobue2020eyes.com/computer-vision-syndrome/

Getting ready to go globetrotting? Make the most of your experience by making preparations for your eye care while you’re traveling. Pack your bags, nothing can ruin a travel experience like losing the ability to see the sights around you. It’s always a good idea to bring a second pair of glasses or extra contacts as spares. If you wear contacts, bring your glasses for backup and make sure you have two bottles of lens solution in case of spills. Remember to never wash or store your contact lenses in water. It is not sterile and may even contain dangerous bacteria. http://www.lobue2020eyes.com/travel-eyecare/

Earlier we talked about the differences between medical insurances, and now we will discuss vision insurance plans. They work differently than medical plans and are simpler in many ways. http://www.lobue2020eyes.com/understanding-vision-insurance/

At LoBue Laser and Eye Medical Center, we do our best to make sure everyone’s holiday season is warm and bright. For this reason, Dr. LoBue has decided to support the local charity Project TOUCH (Together Our Unity Conquers Homelessness). This great organization provides shelter, food, and aid to the members of our community who need it most- children, single mothers, domestic abuse victims, veterans, and the disabled who are homeless or potentially homeless. http://www.lobue2020eyes.com/charity/
