Although the Foundation of LJHS' plans for the 2020 Viking Golf Classic and Spring Fling were canceled, they remain committed to raising the critical funds needed to support our local high school. Instead, they will be holding their first ever online Spring Auction. As you may know, La Jolla High is ranked the #1 Comprehensive High School in the district with a 98% graduation rate! This level of academic ...excellence is the direct result of a strong team of educators, unparalleled community involvement, and steadfast support from LJHS families. Many of La Jolla High's needs such as a dedicated college specialist, an additional security guard, 0.4 of a counselor, campus improvements, academic team advisors, science and art classroom supplies are not fully funded by the San Diego School District. The Foundation relies on the ongoing and generous support of the community to fill this funding gap so they can continue to provide an enriched learning environment for every student at LJHS! LJHS Vikings Football Team Making History On Thanksgiving weekend the Football team won the San Diego CIF Divison III Championship. The first CIF Championship for the program in over 20 years which also qualified them for the state football playoffs! This past weekend the Vikings traveled to Orange County and defeated Huntington Beach Marina High School to capture the Southern California 4-A Regional Championship! This is the first time for this achievement in school hist...ory and is fantastic for our football program, athletics and entire school community! Now the Vikings travel to play for a California state title against Northern California 4-A champion Escalon HS, just north of Modesto. The program will need to travel as a team of approximately 65 to Modesto on Friday for the Saturday 6:00pm game. CIF and the San Diego Unified School District give the school only a small portion of the funds needed to cover the team’s trip which includes bus transportation, lodging and meals for the players and coaches. The team needs to quickly raise some major funds to cover the expenses of the trip. The team has been playing inspired football and representing LJHS with great skill, sportsmanship and passion all season! Please help support the team’s urgent financial needs to make their State Championship weekend journey a reality by making a donation through the Foundation of La Jolla High School. Congratulations to the 2019 CIF CHAMPIONS - The La Jolla High Viking Football Team! La Jolla beat Scripps Ranch in the CIF San Diego Div III CIF Championship game this past Saturday, November 30, in front of packed stands filled with fans! Next up - STATE PLAYOFFS!... The first playoff game will be this Saturday, December 7, at Westminster High School (14325 Goldenwest St, Westminster, CA 92683) at 6pm against Marina High. The stands were packed with fans wearing white last weekend and it helped LJ take the title, let's pack the stands again up in Westminster and be sure to wear our Viking colors - RED and BLACK! Tickets will be $12 for adults and $8 for students/seniors. Parking is free. https://gofan.co/app/events/77276

Are you missing your yearbook??? We are reducing our inventory and are making Viking Yearbooks available to You! For a $20 each donation you can replace, lost/missing yearbooks. ... We have "MOST" years. Call the Alumni Association at 858-551-9871 and we will put one aside for you. All yearbooks will need to be picked up by June 12th.
