Put your own oxygen mask on first. We’re rapidly approaching a full year since the world shut down. And many of us (most of us in the self employed world) have had to make major shifts, changes, decisions, and pivots since then. We’ve done what we’ve needed to in order to try to keep our businesses alive, our customers supported, and our bank accounts in the black. A big part of my shift was to virtual teaching, courses, recorded classes, even retreats. It’s been a GIFT t...o be able to make that shift - and I’m grateful that I’ve been able to hold space for students to come and have their own much needed time and practices. However, my oxygen supply is depleting. Such a first world, white woman problem - I can acknowledge that. Nonetheless, I need time away from being the one holding this weird virtual space for others (oh how I miss holding real, physical space). I’ll be teaching flow tonight at 6pm for @nowyoga_pdx online and then I’ll be taking the remainder of January away from the teaching role. I’ll be filling my cup with my own practice, movement, and creative endeavors - so that when I come back, I come back with something to give. And no, this isn’t a I’m taking a break from social media post - I’ll still be here . See you tonight - or see you in February!
