Wishing everyone a very happy Diwali! How are you marking this special occasion today?

"Ga" is for intellect and "Na" is for wisdom...we want to know what you have planned in honor of Ganesh Chaturthi and what you and your loved ones will present Ganapathi with. Please do share!

Just wanted to post all the sevas that are available through the temple, and a schedule for when thees take place. Our favorite is the Venkateswara Suprabhatam.

Vara means boon. Needless to say, performing puja (in the form of a Vratam) to Goddess Varalakshmi will bring in boons to those who perform with utmost devotion. To this day many women observe this traditional festival praying Varalakshmi for her blessings in form of wealth and well being of their family. This year Varalakshmi Vratam is being celebrated at the Shiva Vishnu Temple on Friday, August 12th, 2011.

August 10th - September 5th - Ganesha Chathurthi is the festival of Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, who is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees in the duration of this festival. Ganesha is widely worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
