SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT Friend is looking for a project horse. She bought a ranch in castro valley. Just talked to her. Shes got a couple hits but is leary whether these are project horses or trainers gone bad this is what she posted on fb. - Sooo who is bored and wants to help me horse shop for another project? The market is hotter than a chicken in an oven right now, and I want to be ON a horse not spending my time scrolling through ads. Draft, or draft crosses REAAALLY p...referred but AQHA, baroque, paint, Appy, Grade okay. 3 and up but 4-6 is best. Prefer unbroke. But willing to look at green beans if I must. Preference given to bigger and stockier build. Sound, and decent conformation. No TBs, arabs, mustangs, or gaited. (Love em just not what I’m looking for right now) up to Mid 4 figure budget. Don’t really care where it’s at long as it can ship to California without the need to sell an appendage. See more

I have known, and PREACHED this ALL my life. Taught to my students too. Finally, someone wrote an article and presented good photos. ORIGINAL POST BY: Runnin...g T Horsemanship, Dana Lovell We are big at teaching the "why" - this was too good not to share. It's the "little" things you do to help your horse that makes them happy and enjoy their time with you. Pulling your saddle pad up into the pommel. It can can take a bit of practice with saddle shifting and pad pulling, but your horse will appreciate it. Without being pulled up, when the saddle is cinched the pad presses down on the withers potentially causing discomfort. With the pad pulled up into the pommel the withers have room to move and there isn't a pressure point. If you aren't already in the habit of doing this the next time you ride put your fingers between the pad and your horses withers while walking or trotting. It's our job to make sure that they can comfortably carry us. This simple shift can help to make that happen.
