On April 24th, 2020 Governor Newsom signed an executive order placing a 60 day pause on the California single-use plastic bag ban. This pause has since expired and was not renewed. For this reason, beginning tomorrow, July 16th, we will once again be charging 10 cents for all bags provided by the store. You will now be allowed to resume using your own reusable bags for no fee. However, you will be required to bag your own groceries if you choose to do so. To further limit ex...posure to our employees, we do ask you leave your bags inside your cart or basket and refrain from placing them on high contact surfaces as much as possible. It is also recommended you wash all reusable bags between uses. The management and employees of Lira’s Supermarket greatly appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we all navigate these unprecedented times.
