Last Saturday we had the privilege to donate our space for an amazing cause. Erica of SoCal Standard set up a full day photography event dedicated to black dads and families of San Diego, and wow, what a turn out. The event was donation based (with proceeds going to bail and legal fees for those arrested during the protests), and an incredible team of photographers, florists, calligraphers, balloon artists, arts and crafts friends, and general help came together and blossomed... into a very happy, energetic and beautiful day for everyone. In light of the ongoing #BLM Movement we think it’s important to support and be able to provide a platform for black artists to come into the spotlight and to amplify their voices. I can’t speak on it much more elequently than C.Mudlo Photography in the post below, but we are humbled and very thankful for an incredible day and for the hard work of everyone involved. We at LIPPS would like to use today's Black Out Tuesday to draw attention to this worthy cause that we are helping facilitate Saturday. CALLING BLACK DADS is a photography concept organized by SoCal Standard's Erica Benson happening this Saturday 6/6. All donations from the portraiture will go towards bail and legal help for arrested SD protesters. We are donating use of all of our studio facilities, photography equipment, and other resources for the weekend to show our solid...arity with Black Lives Matter and maximize Socal Standard's intent. If you or someone you know would like to donate and/or have their portrait taken, please check out Socal Standard's insta for details, intention, and reservation information. All of us in the LIPPS family are grateful for the opportunity to get involved and contribute -- and we encourage you to do the same.
