Public Works will be servicing the cardboard collection sites at the 12 Bridges Library and Joiner Park throughout the weekend. However, with the large amounts of cardboard that are likely to be dropped off in the next few days, you may still find that the bins are full at times. We can all help out to make sure there is space available in the containers for our neighbors to drop off their cardboard by following these rules: - Breakdown and flatten all cardboard before placin...g it in the containers. The containers tend to fill up with air because of boxes that are not broken down. If everyone breaks down their boxes, the containers can easily hold at least twice as much carboard. - Only cardboard is to be placed in the containers. Wrapping paper, Styrofoam, tissue, packing peanuts, and everything else that is not cardboard needs to be disposed of with your household trash. Not only do these items fill up the containers, when there is excessive amounts of non-carboard debris within the containers, they are refused as recycled material and processed by the Material Recover Facility (the dumps) as household garbage. - If the bins are full, please come back at another time. Late mornings are usually best after crews have had a chance to haul bins to the Materials Recover Facility. The more time that crews need to spend cleaning up other peoples' messes, the less time they will have to haul containers to the Material Recover Facility. Thank you all for your assistance.

As we gear up for the holidays starting this week, please remember that trash collection services will be in full operation on Christmas and New Year's Day. Make sure your cans are out by 6 AM on your regular service day, or the evening before. If your regular service day is Friday and you should forget to get your cans out on time, we will not be able to provide return service until the following Monday. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Good evening Lincoln Community. I have been driving around the various neighborhoods in our great Community. Please know that I am very aware of the RV / Inoperable & unregistered vehicles and boat storage on public streets and driveways. Please understand that my main goal is compliance. That involves making contact with the property owners. My aim is to:... . #1 is to educate and explain the LMC ( Lincoln Municipal Code) to the Property Owner because most people do not know that they are in violation. #2. A warning Notice if after they fail to resolve the violation after its been discussed or brought to their attention. #3. A 2nd Notice of Violation is sent. If this is ignored, fees may be assessed. However please do not forget what my main goal as a Compliance officer is. Which is Compliance with the Local already established directives/Laws California Health and Safety Code/ CDC Guidelines. Not to cause anyone at any time hardship in anyway fashion or form. Respectfully, Officer Anderson

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that the McBean Skate Park has been removed. This was not an easy decision to make, but one that was needed for the safety of the community. The McBean skate park was in a distressed condition and was becoming a nuisance due to repeated acts of vandalism that included cutting and removing the guardrail barricades on a nightly basis. The skatepark was vandalized well over 30 times just in the past 3 months. Due to the vandalism and the concern tha...t someone was going to be seriously injured, a decision was made to remove the modular skatepark temporarily. Unfortunately, the entire the entire superstructure of the equipment was substantially deteriorated to the point where it was not feasible for the apparatus to be relocated without causing irreparable damage, or to even remain in place to be repaired at a later date. As a result, City staff had to make the decision to completely remove the skate park equipment to protect the City of Lincoln against further liabilities. City staff will be proposing three options for a new/replacement skate park at the November 18, 2020 Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting: 1. New skatepark at Jimenez 2. New Skatepark at Community Center 3. Replace Skatepark at McBean
