Once upon a time, stem cells were mysterious entities only harvestable from fetal tissue. Last year, I found research showing electro acupuncture increases stem cells. Now, the Taichi I teach has also been shown to increase stem cell levels, moreso than regular cardio exercise. Thanks #taichi Thanks #acupuncture !

Evidence continues to mount that acupuncture is as effective, with fewer side effects than standard pharmaceutical drugs for Migraines.

Good news: Acupuncture's already approved on the battlefield to reduce opioid use for injured soldiers! Sad news: Hospitals would rather give you Opioids over Tylenol. It's cheaper for them, and will cost you more to get over the addiction! Great news: #Acupuncture's not rare or hard to find! Check in with Life's Work Acupuncture in #Milpitas! For injuries, stress, or mysterious symptoms, I can help you be more comfortable in your own body.... https://www.npr.org/templates/transcript/transcript.php

Improve your diet! Add exercise to your routine! Because every day, more research and proof of the chain comes out: 1) +/- Diet + Exercise 2) Change in Gut Bacteria 3) Change in Health... In this article: A) On a normal day, runners have a higher proportion of Veillonella bacteria in their gut. It increases even more after they exercise! The Veillonella eats lactate (muscle fatigue chemical). What does it give back? Veilonella gobbles up lactate and converts it into a molecule called propionate, a short-chain fatty acid that's been shown to affect heart rate and oxygen absorption in mice. B) Transfer Veillonella from marathon running humans to mice. Result: 13% increase in running endurance for the mice. C) Give mice propionate directly: Result: 13& increase in running endurance for the mice! In other articles online: D) Transfer obese mice bacteria to normal mice: Result, normal mice get obese. E) Transfer normal mice bacteria to obese mice: Result, obese mice normalize their weight. F) Same for D and E, but with humans in small trials (10-20 people in study) https://www.npr.org//elite-runners-gut-microbe-makes-mice-

Gotta eat a varied diet (30+ foodstuff species a week, spices are included) to keep variety in the gut microbiome. For so many reasons!!! I had a fibromyalgia patient who I couldn't help because her food and gut situation was unsupported when I wasn't around. I can help in the clinic but it takes a village to eat well. It's easy for a big family, friend, or support group to eat 30 foodstuffs in a week... Not so when people are isolated from family and friends. How can one person eat thirty foods? But at a party or gathering, everyone has access to the natural variety of family style or potluck offerings without giant piles of leftovers.

Great advice from Dr. Steven Key's Blog: Experienced trail guides add the friendly warning that "if you feel thirsty, it's too late..." I often find patients whose skin, tongue, and pulse tells me they're dehydrated and they haven't noticed yet. Except for their pains! Read more on taking care of this before it affects you.
