@taviasb we have these combs by the way... link in bio.
One of my customers came in today and his mother told me he had just thrown a huge fit and has been having a lot of behavioral issues. I put my clippers down, c...ut the tv off, and I spoke to him. He started crying and kept saying nothing was wrong with him. I said you’re angry for a reason and you’re yelling at mommy, etc. After a few minutes, I was able to hit it on the head. This little boy is missing his father. His father walked out of his life a few months ago and hasn’t been back. My heart broke because he doesn’t know how to handle life without dad. The shop was once a joy for him to come to but now leaves him with memories of his father bringing him. After they would leave the shop, they’d hang out all day. I explained to him that his mother has other kids and she’s doing the best she can. I informed him that he should be grateful because kids are in foster homes and not with ANY PARENT. Life may not be what he desires, but at least he has a mother who loves him and who is steadily trying to do what she can with the adjusted life of her being a single mother of several kids. He hugged me and stopped crying. This is no reflection of this child and his mother, but I see a lot as a barber. I want to leave this message with some who may be experiencing what this family is going through: There are a lot of children hurting due to a parent or guardian walking out of their life. If you have a child by someone and it doesn’t work out, don’t allow that to stop you from being there for your child. In the meantime, don’t make it hard for the parent that left either. Allow the parent to be in the child’s life IF they have good intentions. Also, don’t use the child as a pawn to get the other parent to do right or to get back with you. At the end of the day, the child needs the parent more than you need the parent. It takes a village and I pride myself in helping the village. I love my babies and I’m here to help them get through unexpected transitions such as these... #anointedcutz #imnotyouraveragebarber #ilovemybabies See more
