Today, NAS Lemoore's Commanding Officer took pleasure in meritoriously promoting HM2 Tyler Hodge @h0dgep0dge88 to Petty Officer First Class. HM1 Hodge was selected from an extremely competitive group of well deserving Second Class Petty Officers. At approximately 3:23pm today, @caloes requested the assistance of Lemoore SAR to extract a couple of hikers stranded on Madera Peak. As the hikers attempted their return trip back down the mountain they found that "The Creek Wildfire" had rapidly spread and overtaken their return path, thus prompting them to activate their PLB. PETTY OFFICER O’NEILL PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIG...HLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. AS SEARCH AND RESCUE MEDICAL TECHNICIAN LEAD INSTRUCTOR, HE COORDINATED 15 TECHNICAL RESCUE TRAINING EVOLUTIONS WHICH LED TO THE QUALIFICATION OF TWO SAR MED TECHS AND TWO RESCUE CREWCHIEFS, WHICH DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTED TO A 100% MISSION COMPLETION RATE AND A 30% INCREASE IN THE COMMAND’S RESCUE CAPABILITIES.
