Happy Fall neighbors, We are not stopping anytime soon. In fact there will be another hub site opening up in Venice the first week of October. As usual we cann...ot do this without the help of our incredible volunteers and our food donors. This week we have goodies from Westside Food Bank Food Forward FoodCycleLA County Line Produce and numerous other local donors. We love you neighbors and we strongly believe no one should go hungry, people should be fed and then any food waste should be and DOES (in our case) go to local community gardens. We LOVE getting to know our neighbors through gardening and sharing tips and tricks to get your babies to grow h...ealthy vibrant and then consumed and hopefully shared. During this time we need all the one on one human interaction we can get so please come with your questions concerns and pictures! We wanna see what ya'll have growing on! Sunday July 12th, it will be our 20th week feeding folks in need during this crazy pandemic. Last week with the help of our partners and friends FoodCycle LA, A...lbert Vera,@NewEarthlife County Line Produce and 3R Garden Design and Santa Monica College we were able to feed 1025 people! We can still use some volunteers to help us delivery, setup and package food goods, We can also use a couple people with a truck to help us move our boxes from point a) The Mar Vista to Point B) Wood cafe at 11:30 a.m, pm us if you can help with either of those things or signup here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040A4BA8AF23A3F58-nourish. We're very very low on paper bags, if you have an abundance please drop some off at our location: 12000 Washington blvd 90066 from 12:15-1:15. Also, if there's extra fruit in your trees please harvest and bring it on down, harvesting your fruit trees encourages more growth and prevents food from going bad. We are extremely thankful to Shemesh Enterprises and Lettuce Grow for the starts, hundreds of folks in our community are now the recipients of future food forest in their very own yards. This type of work is helping us cultivate and secure our food in our very own city which is a great start to food sovereignty. As always neighbors, it's an honor being able to serve our neighbors with our neighbors, there's a lot of work to be done, however, by acting locally we can help offset a lot the burden caused by this pandemic and help to reconnect to the human spirit through food.
