Chocolate Fans, I made a fresh batch of Dark Chocolate Fudge and I have $20 worth left (a little over 3/4 lb.) Dark Chocolate Fudge is gluten free. It lasts up to a month in a cool dry place so you can give it to a friend for an upcoming birthday or save it for Mother's Day. Fudge also freezes well! When life (or your friends Don Labit and Jeffrey Hoffman give you a giant bag of persimmons, make persimmon bread! I’ve NEVER made it before and ooooh, so happy. Did you know that you puree persimmons before making it into bread? Added in golden raisins and toasted pecans - because you ALWAYS need to toast your nuts, (thank you @duffgoldman)And they are superior to walnuts ioho. This started as an Allrecipes recipe and ended with a whole lot of additions and flavor! Now, what... shall we do with the rest of the bag? Here's the recipe and have fun! https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/6701/persimmon-bread-i/ Changes: 1 cup AP flour + 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (instead of all AP) 1/2 c. brown sugar unpacked (instead of white sugar) 1/2 c. toasted, chopped pecans (instead of walnuts) ADDED 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 tsp. fiore di sicilia 1/4 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp ground cloves 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice Makes 1 loaf.
