Updates & Info for the Big Free Shopping day at the Whittier Free Store this Sunday. Plan ahead with an umbrella for shade if there is a line and plenty of water. Bring sturdy bags or whatever you need to help carry your items away. Volunteers can not help carry items. Take a look to Plan Ahead for the best shopping experience.

Y'all know when we shut down our physical location in LB we opened a Free Store in Whittier - right? Well... We've had a Great Run at the Whittier Free Store & Artisan Work Lab, and we are so grateful to have had the chance to work these projects. It's time to move on - but we want to Extend The Sharing as we bow out of this space. Larger public events and projects in confined spaces are tricky right now. But Smaller / Local community events with limited contact and soci...al distancing can still bring us together to share and reuse - keep items out of the landfill and help people find things they need. I'm Fantasizing about Small & Local Community Sharing Projects, Swaps that are spread out and easy to manage, Sharing Closets or sheds or designated areas that are self-serve and volunteer managed, Free Yard Sales and So Much More! Would you like to start a Free Sharing Operation? Know anyone, any group or organization that could start one or Already has one? Help us shut down with a flow out to others to extend the sharing.
