Update: adopted Even though he looks super serious in photos, Archer is anything but. He's very friendly and enjoys cuddles as much as walking. And he apparen...tly really enjoyed his play time with little Cubby the puppy. Archer is a sturdy lil guy who doesn't want to be carried around in no stinkin' purse. He wants to chase you on the soccer field and be a part of all the fun you might be having. He's still on hold but keep your eye on him. Archer, male 2 years, 13 pounds A656173 Stray, available 4/17 If this is your dog or you would like to make an appointment to meet, please call 562-570-4925 or email [email protected]. #LBACSadoptapet #lbanimalcare Saving Long Beach Shelter Dogs

Update: adopted This dog for real cannot keep her mouth shut. She's happy, happy, happy! She's happy to walk, she's happy to explore, she's happy to see you. ... Who wouldn't want a companion like this?? And she's fat like a little sausage and would be fine to get take-out every night if you want. This adorable, friendly girl is just waiting for someone to scoop her up after her stray hold if she's still here. Hilda, female 3 years old, 69 pounds A656105 Stray, available 4/16 If this is your dog or you would like to make an appointment to meet, please call 562-570-4925 or email [email protected]. #LBACSadoptapet #lbanimalcare Saving Long Beach Shelter Dogs

Jackie stopped by the Bembridge house for a quick brunch, then back to the pound she went. As you've seen all week, she is a very adventurous and well rounded dog. Add some culture to your life and give this beautiful girl a home.

You'd have to be crazy to not like Ceelo. You can make your friends green with envy if you adopt him. What a goofy, sweet hound dog he is. He's another one ...who doesn't waste a second of his out time. Go, go, go! If you like to camp and hike, then pack your tent and head over to LBACS and pick up this gorgeous boy. Ceelo, neutered male 2 years old, 65 pounds A653398 Stray, available If you'd like to make an appointment to meet, call 562/570-4925 or email [email protected]. #LBACSadoptapet #lbanimalcare Saving Long Beach Shelter Dogs

Update: taken by SPCA Willing photographic subject, thy name is NOT Joey. Wow. He never stops moving, looking, sniffing, exploring. He's a happy kid who real...ly doesn't seem interested in toys. He wants to know what is around the next corner. He's a beautiful young pup in his prime and we hope his family comes for him. But chances are he'll still be here on his available date when he'll be up for grabs. Joey, male 3 years old, 64 pounds A656101 Stray, available 4/16 If this is your dog or you'd like to make an appointment to meet, call 562/570-4925 or email [email protected]. #LBACSadoptapet #lbanimalcare Saving Long Beach Shelter Dogs

Update: adopted Poor little Chewy is not happy. She's in really good shape and doesn't seem like she's been on the run. Her coat is unbelievably soft and silk...y. Although turned in as a stray, you have to wonder if maybe she secretly was given up. She just seems kind of lost and withdrawn. Once she's over the indignance of being picked up, she actually seems to settle into your lap. But we weren't able to coax a smile out of her yet. Hopefully soon, though. Chewy, female 8 months old, 11 pounds A655934 Stray, available If you'd like to make an appointment to meet, call 562/570-4925 or email [email protected]. #LBACSadoptapet #lbanimalcare Saving Long Beach Shelter Dogs

Been feeling cold lately? Then come to the shelter and get Toasty. Toasty is a wild and crazy 10 months old. He is Min Pin mixed with ground hound..his nose ...is extremely busy checking all the smells and potentially VeryImportantMessages left by other dogs. As much as he loves to cruise around and sniff, he equally enjoys chasing toys. He also likes to yell "howdy neighbor" through the playyard fence when someone passes by. He's so busy he keeps flipping his ears inside out running around so much . He is not one to sit still, so if you are looking for an adventure buddy, Toasty is the next best thing since sliced bread. Toasty, male 10 months old, 26 pounds A651000 Stray, available 11/12 If this is your dog or you would like to make an appointment to meet, please call 562-570-4925 or email [email protected] #LBACSadoptapet

I would like to introduce you to Riley. Outta the Cage rescued this hound/sharpei blend 2 weeks ago from City of Long Beach Animal Care Services. Poor guy had i...nflamed skin, goopy eyes, bad dandruff, and a sad face. This past week Riley saw a veterinary dermatologist. Diagnosis? Two "raging infections": a bacterial infection and a yeast infection. Poor guy might have allergies (probably environmental), but we can't be sure until the infections have resolved. Riley's wonderful foster mom, Kimberly Wang, is making sure he takes his meds, and has even begun administering eye drops. Kimberly has fostered for us before, and she updates us regularly on our dogs. The word she uses most often for Riley? "Adorable." Riley is 7 years old, house trained, crate trained, good with dogs his size or a bit smaller, and not reactive on leash. He gets multiple walks a day and loves being outside. He seems to enjoy his medicated baths. Here are two photos of Riley, one when we rescued him and one from today. Can you see the difference? He's getting better every day, and we know he'll make a great family dog. He'll see the doctor again in a few weeks for a checkup. Meantime, we're just happy that Riley is feeling fabulous now that he's #outtathecage. Please keep him on your radar for a home?

Porky and his (sister) have been cared for by a kind neighbor after their family just up and left them behind. He doesn't seem too traumatized and presents as ...happy and friendly. He's a moderate walker and doesn't really seem into toys. He has a skin issue that looks like it might be warts on his back but doesn't seem bothered by it. Show him that family sticks together and give him a warm home this winter. Porky, neutered male 7 years old, 63 pounds A507977 Abandoned, available now If you want more information or would like to schedule an appointment to meet, call 562-570-4925 or email [email protected] #LBACSadoptapet

Lola is perfect. But she has some medical issues... Yeah, she does. But listen, she’s P.E.R.F.E.C.T. How? Gentle, darling, loving, easy demeanor, slow low ri...der, tolerant, nurturing, happy (even though she landed in shelter after being confiscated for cruelty), beautiful, grateful, kind. I could go on. She’s just that unicorn dog. The one you feel lucky to be around because she’s so good and pure and loving. She seemed to take care of the 5 other dogs she came in with, and she’s been amazing meeting new dogs, bigs and littles. She has a growth that needs removing and some other things that need to be addressed by a rescue who sees what we all see in her: . Lola is at @lbanimalcare and her ID is #A647960. They think she is 8 years old. She’s perfect. Please help me share her. Images: Mary Augugliaro @northcentralshelter @jilldyche @vburger.vegan See more

Oh handsome, sweet Liam. I love you and I worry about you. You’re so young, you’ve been in the shelter too long, and you need HELP. You’re a sweet, muscly, act...ive young boy, and you seem a little more lost every week that passes. You need some help finding your person (or people). Your ride or die. You need an athletic partner in life: someone to run or hike with you, someone to guide you through the rest of life, since you’ve been trying your best to make it through life in the shelter. Now you need to be a part of a family. It might be pointless to even ponder, but you look like someone paid a pretty penny for you. You’re a stunning, fawn APBT with jade green eyes and a body builder’s physique. I wonder how you lost your humans. Someone probably loved you. I wish they hadn’t butchered your ears. I wish they had taught you some leash manners. But your inclination is to be sweet, so someone spent time with you. I just know you need out now. It’s so hard to see the young and the old, especially, stuck in the shelter, without a pack. So won’t you help us find this beautiful boy who’s hope is fading find his match? Please share. Consider adopting or rescuing this big, beefy, playful sweetheart. I love you, Liam. Hold on, big buddy. Liam is housed at @lbanimalcare His ID number is #a644198 You can make an appointment to meet him by emailing [email protected] Please let us know if you want more info on this gorgeous boy. #lonelydog #dogathlete #longbeach #inlandempire Outta the Cage Jill Dyche See more
