A mistrial has been declared by a Long Beach jury for a murder case on which they could not come to an agreement. The defendant, 22 year-old Matthew Ngov, was accused of shooting Pablo Ortiz as he was riding his bike. Authorities connected him to the shooting after finding his fingerprints on the scene. The prosecution also argued that they found his DNA on the crime scene, which in their mind, solidified his guilt. Attorney Jay Glaser reputed this evidence by revealing tha...t there were no witnesses to the shooting and the gun used in the murder was never found. Ngov was also arrested in connection with the attempted murder of another two people outside a Long Beach restraint. He and 6 other members of the gang, Asian Boyz, were the suspected perpetrators. After deliberating for almost 3 days, the jury remained divided 9-3 in favor of the conviction. They reported this to Superior Court Judge James Pierce, who then declared it a mistrial. The D.A. will make a decision as to whether the trial should be retried. Check out the news article here: See more
