Happy Boss's Day to a Boss like no one else! Michael Scafiddi

We rarely post about our cases, but this is one that I know Ron Powell and Michael Scafiddi would greatly appreciate these extremely kind words! Mike Scafiddi saved my husband!!! My husband was facing a life sentence and the odds were stacked against him due to a prior conviction. Ron Powell was my husband’s initial attorney and spent extensive time and energy defending my husband’s claim of not guilty even though the situation looked very dismal. Ron was very considerate of... our hardship and did everything in his power to make sure my husband had the best defense available. Unfortunately, in the middle of this fight Ron passed away unexpectedly and it was a harsh blow to his clients, friends, and colleagues who cherished his quick wit, kind heart and fighting spirit. In, steps Mr. Michael Scafiddi, who amid losing his best friend and his mother a week prior, called me and personally explained that he would personally be handling my husbands case. I was FLOORED that this man who was going through his own pain and loss was able to maintain his professionalism and candor regarding dealing with the intricacies of my husband’s difficult case. Mike not only made us feel at ease during the transition period between attorneys, but he was brutally honest and never gave us false hope or expectations as to the possible outcome of the case. By the Grace of God, and all Mikes hard work, tenacity, keen strategy and unprecedented reputation he was able to get my husband’s charge reduced considerably without my husband serving and exorbitant time in jail which the DA was originally pushing for. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Mr. Scafiddi as an attorney and a man of God. After the dust was settled and we knew my husband was coming home sooner than later I thanked Mike and explained how thankful and appreciative myself and my husband were for all he had done. Mike responded with I’m here to help people and am doing the Lord’s work. Indeed, he is, he has restored my faith in what an excellent attorney should be as he is all that and more.
