La Vista Memorial Park 23.05.2021

We have built a new fence around the pond. It’s currently being stained by two talented college students. When asked if they were enjoying painting they gave us a big enthusiasticYES because it got them out of the house and doing something productive. Feel free to stop by and thank them for their hard work under the to help us continue to beautify our park.

With only 5 days to plan and two days to set-up, an idea became a reality! Memorial Day is very dear to our hearts. We don't need to be a military cemetery to show our appreciation to all the men and women who fought to protect us and keep us safe. We have several veterans laid to rest at La Vista that deserve to be celebrated, appreciated, and honored. There are countless U.S flags through out our park that identify a veteran. We dedicate our Memorial Day Parade to you as our way of saying "Thank you for your service"! This event was made with love. A special thank you to all who attended, participated and volunteered their time in making it a most memorable day.

Thank you to all the volunteers who joined us this past Friday, May 22nd in preparation for Memorial Day. We especially want to personally thank Chief Matthew Bizjak for involving his family and his active military friends to help us on their day off. The numbers were much less than past years due to our current pandemic situation, however the few were mighty! We also had the privilege of meeting a gentleman by the name of Frank who heard the call out for help. We had ordered pizza and had several refreshments available for our volunteers and whenever asked to take a little break, he kindly declined and continued placing US flags on veteran memorials. It's not easy to cover 40 acres of land. We thank you all very much.

Our Mortuary supervisor is currently out of town. Scott and your humble servant Luisa are at your service. Today has been a first to witness a complete DJ set-up to give a beautiful farewell.

This picture doesn’t do this vision justice. These baby Christmas trees and flower decorations are kind reminders of how families show their love to include their loved ones into the Christmas spirit. Those mini Christmas trees are simply adorable.
