What a truly special day planting baby oak, willow & walnut trees all together~ We LVED it! We are so proud to partner with #onetreeplanted to help plant trees all over the world! For every garden we sell we are committed to planting 12 trees! Thank You also to their local tree planting partners TreePeople for making this wonderful day possible! The last two days some of the team has been in the field planting trees at Cheeseboro Canyon in the Malibu area. The trees planted here are for the purpose of forest fire restoration from the Woolsey Fire two years ago What’s even better is we’ve gotten to bring some of our friends along to get their hands in the dirt with us. We watched #ALifeOnOurPlanet last night and it took our breath away. It is #DavidAttenborough ‘s witness statement to the devastating climate change or as he calls it the story of how we have come to make this our greatest mistake. It is what he has personally witnessed with his own eyes in his 93 years that is destroying our magnificent planet. IT IS ASTONISHING It is also his vision for the future and he stresses the urgency for us all to act now to make it right again. He offers HOPE and shares sustainable solutions for some of the biggest challenges we face in farming, forestry, with our oceans and renewable energy to save our planet and save ourselves.

This striking footage from Kiss the Ground Movie on Netflix is one of the most important films we have ever watched~ it should be mandatory for everyone living on #planetearth to see. Sometimes it’s a tomato, an eggplant, a cucumber and sometimes it’s just this & the word Magic!! From our dear friend @georgiavanc in Downtown Los Angeles ~ This is the beautiful rooftop garden of the Los Angeles Mission & All of this produce is for their residents experiencing homelessness.

What a gift to receive this awesome video of the @GettyHouse Gardens this morning from our outstanding seedling & service partner Gina with @oakcreekfarmandhomestead! This is the home of our #MayorofLA @ EricGarcetti and his lovely wife #AmyWakeland! The gardens are thriving and that makes us so HAPPY because most all of this produce 616 edible plantswill be harvested next week and donated to women experiencing homelessness. #joyfulfarmhers

It’s just remarkable that when you look for hearts ~ you find hearts! My beautiful daughter @jessicaencellcoleman @magicofhumanconnection and I cherish our beach walks together talking and searching for heart rocks! These are some of our 2020 summer treasures!

San Diego State University is growing 880 of the freshest leafy greens & herbs right outside the doors of their 'Garden' dining hall with our #LAUrbanFarms Vertical Gardens using 90% less water than conventional gardening because the water is recirculated in the system until all the plants absorb it or it evaporates! The #Aztecs are a model for what’s possible for taking an unused space and transforming it into a beautiful place of local, healthy abundant food! ...By growing up vertically they can maximize this space & grow 10 times more than conventional gardening! #SDSU is also a leader in sustainability teaching us that small changes can make big differences ~By choosing to go to tray-less dining they are conserving a half a gallon of water per tray!
