I will be offering Complimentary classes for everyone to help bring people together, mitigate stress and stay active at home. We will also offer Kids Kung Fu virtual classes to keep your young one's busy with healthy exercise while giving you a bit of a break. Since this is new for me, I need feedback from you to provide the best solution. Please answer this quick poll so I know what the majority would like and can figure out how to get it to you swiftly. Either li...ve classes allowing for Q&A (trickier and by a schedule) or the "on-demand" recorded classes you can view at your leisure? I may be able to figure out a way to do both, but if overwhelmingly one sided, I can just focus my attention there. I will follow up with one more poll in the next 24hrs asking about class type interest with an option to sign up. You may want to consider in advance your interests, these are based on existing classes offered and will follow their respective formats. Trust your body, that's what I told myself when my oldest daughter asked me this week "hey dad, want to run in the Turkey Trot with me on Friday at my school"? Years since last run = >6yrs (MCL #shenanigans ) Hours of practice to prepare = 0... Then she hits me with the follow up "it's only a 5k"...(see preparation notations above) Then @davidgoggins whispers in my ear gently, #youcantbreakme and I reply "let's do it"! The rest of this is for my fitness family, with special thanks to @powerspeedendurance that shared the #aob with me and @_brianmackenzie for all the great nudges to test what #nasalonly can do. Number of mouth breaths taken = 0 Number of walk bits = 2 circled as my HR was creeping to 176 and didn't want to open my mouth, so backed off for 20 beats twice. *exception - last 100 yards for the kick, had to lap the last dad that tried to hold me off Findings: as a long time endurance athlete that's out of condition, it boggles my mind to sustain nearly 20 minutes of continuous HR >165bpm on nasal only breathing. Sure I wasn't fast, but that's not the point, the physiological demands of running for me at that HR should not have allowed the sustained effort, yet it did with gas in the tank at the finish. All this came from that first powerful thought, "trust your body". Leaves me humbled and in awe of what we can do when we try. Being one of only 4 dads out there and first to finish for my little girl = magic

There were a host of reasons to be talked out of this race, the biggest was lack of preparation. I knew there would be pain, understood I would be knocking on the ceiling of my max HR and yet, those are just excuses.... Choices are always the same; 1) accept the "little voices* as truth and stifle your true potential. 2) step into your fear, your certain discomfort, and ensure that the deepest parts of your spirit remain alive.
