LA PORTE CABINS Www.laportecabins.com Our beautiful country style cabins are nestles within the Plumas National Forest! You're in for a relaxing vacation in La Porte (population 28)La Porte is an old gold mining town first settled in 1851 by 49ers prospecting for gold. In it's heyday, La Porte had a bustling population of about 900 with 7 saloons, 3 hotels, 2 theaters, breweries. Now La Porte is a sleepy village with a ...saloon, post office, deli/mini mart museum. The Bunkhouse Cabins all have queen size beds, complete kitchens, bathroom WiFi and cable TV. We supply everything so you only have to bring your food and move right in. All the cabins are exceptionally clean. Our 2 Story Cabin, Cabin 4 sleeps 9+ It has two sleeping rooms up stairs with a Queen and single bed in one room, a queen size and single bed in the upstairs loft area. There is also one single bed downstairs along with 2 couches . Full kitch with breakfast nook. Free WiFi and cable tv. La Porte's original name was "Rabbit Creek", is surrounded by the Plumas National Forest. Its a great place to get away from modern life and enjoy the pleasures of boating, paddle boarding, jet skiing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, nature walks, mountain biking, miles and mile of running tails, ATV tails, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling or just relaxing on the porch. The first downhill ski races were held in the La Porte area in the 1860's. In the Winter there's lots of snow for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. You can start your cross country ski, snowshoe, or snowmobile trip right out the front door of your cabin. In the Summer, Little Grass Valley Lake is just 4 miles up the road. There's lots of small streams and miles of trails to hike and fish or picnic by. The Pacific Crest Trail passes through this portion of the forest not far from La Porte. There's many historic town sites and cemeteries in the area. Some within walking distance and others within a few hours drive. Www.laportecabins.com Your pets are welcome!
