One of my biggest fears was spending years in college to get my degree just to have a hard time finding a job in the long run. Today, in the United States, the reality is that one of the strongest predictors of your future income is the zip code you were born in. Systemic barriers stand in the way of too many people in the United States. That has to change, and Lambda School wants to be a part of that change. -Molly Graham, COO #WomensHistoryMonth

I got out of the Marine Corps and got a divorce. My son was five, my daughter was two. It was dark, but I dug myself out and started going to community college. I learned how to code. I liked it and was good at it. I almost had my bachelor's degree, so I thought Lambda would be a refresher. I've always been blue collar. I know how to work hard. But this was a different kind of hard. The payoff was so far away. I wanted to quit a thousand times, but I sat down 1,001 times an...d didn't give up. "Now I’m a Service Developer for CCMSI. I'm 40 years old. It's never too late to go after what you want. -Stacy Williams, Lambda School grad #WomensHistoryMonth

I worked in retail for 9 or 10 years, and banking just as long. I ended up having three shoulder surgeries, and that's what prompted me to want to make a change in life because I realized I was always putting others first. I needed something that made me happy. It was tough because I was 36 and thinking about going back to school. I had been out of school for 18 years. "Coming into Lambda I was this newbie who knew absolutely nothing about code. It taught me to overcome pe...rsonal struggles and that you can't always be a perfectionist and things aren't always going to go your way, but that's okay. I feel like I'm definitely a stronger person because it forced me outside of my comfort zone. -Michelle Sirimanivong, Lambda School grad #WomensHistoryMonth

I grew up in Shanghai, China. I studied hospitality management at Shanghai business school. I came to America two years ago for my husband and to get a chance to start over and choose a career I really like. The people at Lambda are so nice and always encouraged and supported me because my English is not good and I lacked self-confidence. They were always ready to help. I work for Innovational Corp as a Product/UX Designer. It's a small start-up but they are growing very ...fast. It's very modern and fresh and young. I find myself more certain about my career choice, and I feel energetic when doing designs. I feel lucky to work in a career I actually love. -April Ding, Lambda School grad
