The San Diego Unified School District will provide free meals to students at several sites in San Diego. San Diego Unified Food and Nutrition Services will be conducting a drive thru / walk-up distribution of daily prepared meals, free of charge. Children will need to be present to receive meals, and each child 18 years and younger may take one lunch and one breakfast for the next day. There will be no congregate feeding; all food is to be taken and consumed offsite. Meal dis...tribution times for all locations will be from Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ---------------------------------------------------------- El Distrito Escolar de San Diego proporcionará comidas gratuitas a los estudiantes en varios sitios en San Diego. El Departamento de Servicios Alimenticios y de Nutrición del Distrito Escolar Unificado de San Diego tendrá centros de distribución de alimentos gratuitos preparados diariamente. Los alumnos deberán estar presentes para recibir los alimentos y cada alumno hasta los 18 años podrá obtener un almuerzo y un desayuno para el día siguiente. No se podrá consumir los alimentos en los centros designados; los alimentos deben consumirse fuera de los centros. El horario de distribución de todos los centros será de lunes a viernes de 11:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m.

In the best interest of our community, our organization has decided to follow the recommendations of SDUSD by closing our program in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We will reopen on April 6th. California has now entered a critical new phase in the fight to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is evidence the virus is already present in the communities we serve, and our efforts now must be aimed at preventing its spread. We believe closing the state’s two largest school districts will make an important contribution to this effort. For that reason, we plan to close, effective Monday, March 16. San Diego Unified plans to reopen schools on April 6th, unless conditions call for an extension. -Superintendent Cindy Marten of San Diego
