0ur 2020 Memorial Tournament is Sept. 21st and is full. This is our Annual Memorial Tournament where we honor our Cancer Survivors, and remember those that we have lost to Cancer. This is also our annual fundraiser for Cancer. Cancer does not stop just because we are in a pandemic. It is more important than ever to help those who are fighting cancer. Whether you are participating in the tournament or not, donations can be made on our website (www.SDCWGA.net) by clicking on the donation link on the home page. We continue looking for the County and State milestones that will allow golf tournament resumption in San Diego County. Hopefully, we will get there soon! The County Championship is scheduled for July. This does not leave much time for players to prepare for the championship. So, the Board decided to reschedule the County Championship to later in 2020. The dates and locations will be announced later this year. If we are able to schedule play in July, it will be a Fiel...d Day. An update will be sent out when we know more. Tournaments, as we know them, may be changed for a while. They may not be shotgun starts. But, we can do tee times, if required. It may not be with the Rules of Golf as we have played in the past: flag sticks may not be touched, bunkers may not have rakes, etc. But, we will work with the revised USGA Rules to accommodate such changes. The best information we have at this point is that restrictions probably will remain for a while. So, we probably will be wearing masks, practicing social and physical distancing, wiping everything down and applying lots of hand sanitizer. As you go around in your community more freely and regularly come in contact with more people in more places, hopefully, you will feel safer and want to sign up for our tournaments. When we receive the good news that sports gatherings will be allowed, we invite you to join us for a tournament. Hopefully, we can measure that in weeks or daysnot months! We hope everyone is well. San Diego has set an amazing standard on how to "flatten the curve" by physical distancing over the past month. Keep up the good work! We were notified today by Camp Pendleton, that they are canceling our scheduled June 15, 2020, Field Day at Marine Memorial due to the restrictions placed upon them by State and County officials. Additionally, we have no information at this time if these restrictions will change before the SDCWGA Championship in July. You will receive a notification when there is confirmation from the courses that we may proceed. We look forward to seeing you all ... when it is safe to do so. Stay well.

The Board of San Diego County Women’s Golf Association is doing their best to stay abreast of the advice of government officials and public health authorities and to implement the requirements set forth. To comply with the directive of the CDC we are immediately cancelling ALL scheduled events in the months of March and April as well as the Roam from Home. As of this moment, these ...are the only events we have cancelled. Our Directors are working on rescheduling some of these events to dates in the near future. We will continue updating this notice as information becomes available. So, please check the SDCWGA website frequently to stay informed on when the events will happen. The need to cancel a tournament is not easy. However, in these difficult times, we feel that we must keep our community safe, and that will remain the most important factor in how we continue to respond to the current events. The San Diego County Department of Health has sent out notifications that smaller events may continue only if event organizers can implement the social distancing guidelines of six ...(6) feet of separation between participants. As you know, this is not plausible for our golf events since members ride in carts together and are often standing close to one another on the course/green. To comply with the directive of the California Department of Public Health and the mandate from the County of San Diego, we are immediately cancelling ALL scheduled events in the month of March as well as the Roam from Home. As of this moment, these are the only events we have cancelled. Our Directors are working on rescheduling some of these events to dates in the near future.
