WHEN IS YOUR NEXT TROUT PLANT? This is the question of the month as we inch towards the beginning of trout season (November-April). We love how enthusiastic all of you anglers are and we can’t wait to post that first trout stocking video for you but it will need to wait just a little bit longer. Our consistently warm air temps this season have kept our water temps warm as well and we all know that trout love cold temps. They would not acclimate or thrive in our current water... temperature. We expect to have our first plant in mid to late November if the water temp cools down enough. Until then, come enjoy the extended fishing season for bass, catfish and bluegill. CAMPFIRES ARE WELCOME! Now that our weather has cooled off we are frequently asked if we permit campfires here. We absolutely do! Each of our campsites offers either a steel or concrete firepit which allows you to create a campfire in a safe and contained space. Firewood is sourced locally and sold here onsite to eliminate the transfer of non-native pests. NOTE: The only time we temporarily suspend campfires here is when there is a Red Flag High Wind Advisory in place f...or our area. Out of an abundance of caution and with great respect for our natural surroundings, we suspend fires in that instance. www.lakehemetrecreation.com
