We are receiving warnings for a possible PG&E PSPS Event this weekend: Saturday September 26th - Monday September 28th, 2020. In the event of a PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) will modify and/or limit the use of some of our recreation facilities. If a power outage could affect the safety and comfort of our guests, we may close the facility. Generators will be used, where available, to provide a minimum level of water and ...wastewater service. Other amenities, such as lighting in public spaces and mobile phone service, may not be available. In a PSPS event, we will immediately implement water conservation measures to reduce the burden on water and wastewater systems. Additional closures may be required depending on the length of the power shutoff. We will update you as soon as we hear anything new. Update: July 1, 2020 | Limited Day Use (effective July 2, 2020). Working together with our agency partners and public health officials, we’ve developed a sustainable operating plan to allow outdoor recreation to continue at Lake Camanche. Guest and staff safety remains our top priority, and we’ve taken additional steps to boost our commitment to reducing Covid-19 risks. Starting Thursday July 2nd, Lake Camanche day use visitation numbers will be reduced to provide enhanced s...ocial distancing. Our new daily limits are as follows: 100 day use vehicles at the North Shore 100 day use vehicles at the South Shore 150 daily boat launches at North Shore 100 daily boat launches at South Shore Limitations on day use access will not apply to Lake Camanche annual pass holders or house boaters and their guests. The owner of the houseboat must accompany their guest and day use fees will apply for the visiting guest. Camping remains open at both the North Shore and South Shore facilities in reduced numbers to promote safety and social distancing. Camping reservations for North Shore can be booked online at: https://bookings7.rmscloud.com/obooki/Search/Index/11480/90 South Shore camping reservations can be booked online at: https://bookings7.rmscloud.com/obooki/Search/Index/11576/90 Advance reservations are required for camping, no same day arrivals will be allowed. Boat Rentals as well as retail sales remain open at both North and South Shore locations. While we wish we could accommodate everyone at all times, providing a safe recreation opportunity for all is our highest priority. We’re sorry, but after discussions with our agency partners focusing on health and safety priorities for guests and staff at Lake Camanche, we have closed some campgrounds and reduced capacity in others. It goes without saying, but we think our guests are pretty awesome and cancelling reservations of families and friends who also love Lake Camanche is not what we want to be doing this summer. We apologize in advance to guests whose camping plans were impacted by this changi...ng Covid-19 environment. Reservations for approved, socially distanced campsites are still available. Many of these open campsites are available midweek, when crowds at Lake Camanche are much lower. We encourage guests to consider midweek visits. Please know these policies were enacted for one reason, to protect the health and safety of Lake Camanche guests and staff members. Thank you for your understanding.
