A lot of clients have been calling regarding #stimuluscheck. Here's what you need to know. If you have filed your 2020 return (and the IRS has processed it), then the amount of your stimulus check should be based on the information in that 2020 return. That includes dependents. That means that if you have not filed your 2020 return (or the IRS has not processed it ), the amount of your check will be based on your 2019 return.... That said, since this all happened during the filing season, there is a window in the law to address this problem. The window is 90 days from the end of the filing season OR September 1, 2021, whichever comes first. If your 2020 return is filed and processed before that window closes but after you’ve received your check, the IRS is supposed to send you the difference. IT IS NOT YET clear when or how that will happen (so please do not ask us or your tax professional). #tax #IRS Please keep in mind that I cannot call the IRS on your behalf regarding #stimuluscheck. Please do not send or post your personal information. Thanks to the #taxgirl for posting this information for which this post has been modified from.

There hasn't been a lot of movement on a stimulus package over the past few months. Now, a bipartisan group claims it's making progress. Here's what's in - and out - under their proposal. #tax #PPP #stimulus #stimuluscheck #unemployment #COVID #studentloans #rent #vaccines

Some weekend tax humor.
5 million pieces of unopened mail. Last I heard it was all stacked in 53 semi truck trailers.
There is nothing wrong with a strategy to avoid the payment of taxes. The Internal Revenue Code doesn’t prevent that. U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist The question is are you willing to stop paying only $200-500 a year for a tax return and invest some money to save taxes and get a return on investment to increase your net worth?
I am posting this from a tax group I am a part of. Very interesting case. And if you know me, you know I always say this. This is why we do not listen to the IRS. Congress makes tax law. If the IRS was right about everything then there wouldn't be a need for the U.S. Tax Court nor a license to represent taxpayers. The CARES Act is the law and it never said that incarcerated individuals cannot receive an economic impact payment. https://procedurallytaxing.com/incarcerated-individuals-w/
Another arrest - and this time, Congress says there's a lot of bad #PPP loans out there. #tax #fraud
