The work continues on the Broadway Safety Project. This past month, LADOT crews continued their work on Broadway by implementing the newest round of street improvements, which included the placement of green road markings to delineate bicycle lanes, parking zones, and turning zones.

Recently LADOT was hard at work at the intersection of Chautauqua & Corona del Mar in CD 11 Councilmember Mike Bonin. Multiple safety improvements for pedestrians include a newly painted pedestrian refuge island, additional pedestrian street signs, new pavement markings, a realignment of road striping, and raised pavement markings on the intersection’s eastern side.

City Department of Public Works are collaborating to enhance safety and accessibility on the street with a pavement repair and street resurfacing, upgraded curb ramps, left-turn traffic signals, protected bike lanes, bus boarding islands, and street trees and lighting. Did you know Reseda Blvd serves 5000+ transit riders daily? This fall, L.A. City Department of Public Works and LADOT will start constructing the Reseda Blvd Complete Streets Project, which will improve transit safety and efficiency on Reseda. The project includes 11 new concrete bus boarding islands that will allow buses to quickly serve each stop while separating buses from people on bikes. This fall, L.A. City Department of Public Works and LADOT will begin construction on the Reseda Blvd Complete Streets Project . We’re especially excited about all the enhancements this project will bring to the Valley’s bike network! The project will close an existing network gap, resulting in 11 miles of continuous bike lanes on Reseda Blvd from Porter Ranch to Tarzana (including 3.8 continuous miles of protected bike lanes). The project spans from Parthenia St to Victory Blvd and is investing $19.5M in the community, combining critical street safety improvements with pavement rehabilitation. Our crews have been hard at work making intersections safer in CD 11 @MikeBoninCD11. This Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon installation on Inglewood Blvd. and Beatrice St. will make people more visible when crossing the street and encourage drivers to yield.

Our crews installed a new HAWK beacon at Masselin Ave and Pico Blvd! This new safety improvement allows pedestrians to cross the road safely by alerting drivers to stop through flashing yellow and red lights.

LADOT has begun implementation of the Little Street Redesign Project for Esperanza Elementary as part of the city’s Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program to bring a valet lane and more visible crosswalks to protect L.A. students. - LADOT ha comenzado la implementación del Proyecto de Rediseño de Little Street para la Escuela Primaria Esperanza como parte del programa de la ciudad Rutas Seguras a la Escuela (SRTS en inglés), para traer un carril de valet y más cruces peatonales visibles para proteger a los estudiantes de Los Ángeles.
