Echo, one of our #LACoFD and Los Angeles County Firefighters, IAFF Local 1014 peer support comfort dogs, is on duty this evening and wishes everyone a safe New Year’s Eve. Please remember to keep pets safe tonight. Fireworks and other loud noises can make our pets scared. Bring pets inside and make sure they have a safe, quiet place to retreat from loud noises, like fireworks.

Today, we shared in the monumental crossover as 45 Vernon firefighters officially become Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) firefighters. This historic move would not have been possible without the dedicated collaboration and teamwork between the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Fire Chief Daryl L. Osby, Vernon City Council, Vernon Fire Chief Enriquez, our LACoFD transition team, and Los Angeles County Firefighters, IAFF Local 1014. Our newest LACoFD firefigh...ters will continue to provide the highest and best level of fire protection, life-saving services, and public safety education to the community as it always has. Our dedication to residents and property owners never waivers. While the badge and uniform may change, the commitment and goals remain the same: protecting lives, property, and the environment. Congratulations and welcome to the #LACoFD family! Doug Morrison, LACoFD Photographer
