The Death of Jesus (Matthew 27:45-50) 45 From noon until three in the afternoon, darkness came over the whole land. 46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out with a loud voice, Elí, Elí, lemá sabachtháni? that is, My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? 47 When some of those standing there heard this, they said, He’s calling for Elijah.... 48 Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge, filled it with sour wine, put it on a stick, and offered him a drink. 49 But the rest said, Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him. 50 But Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and gave up his spirit. The King on the Cross (Matthew 27:32-37) 32 As they were going out, they found a Cyrenian man named Simon. They forced him to carry his cross. 33 When they came to a place called Golgotha (which means Place of the Skull), 34 they gave him wine mixed with gall to drink. But when he tasted it, he refused to drink it. 35 After crucifying him, they divided his clothes by casting lots. 36 Then they sat down and were guarding him there. 37 Above his head they put up the charge agai...nst him in writing: This Is Jesus, the King of the Jews.

The Mocking of Jesus (Matthew 27:27-31) 27 Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the governor’s residence and gathered the whole company around him. 28 They stripped him and dressed him in a scarlet robe. 29 They twisted together a crown of thorns, put it on his head, and placed a staff in his right hand. And they knelt down before him and mocked him: Hail, king of the Jews! 30 Then they spat on him, took the staff, and kept hitting him on the head. 31 After they had... mocked him, they stripped him of the robe, put his own clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him. When I Survey 1 When I survey the wondrous cross On which the Prince of glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride. 2 Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, Save in the death of Christ my God! All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood. 3 See from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down! Did e’er such love and sorrow meet, Or thorns compose so rich a crown? 4 Were the whole realm of nature mine, That were a present far too small; Love so amazing, so divine, Demands my soul, my life, my all. Be Still 1 Be still, for the presence of the Lord, The holy One, is here; Come bow before him now With reverence and fear In him no sin is found We stand on holy ground. Be still, for the presence of the Lord, The holy One, is here. 2 Be still, for the glory of the Lord Is shining all around; He burns with holy fire, With splendour he is crowned: How awesome is the sight Our radiant king of light! Be still, for the glory of the Lord Is shining all around. 3 Be still, for the power of the Lord Is moving in this place: He comes to cleanse and heal, To minister his grace - No work too hard for him. In faith receive from him. Be still, for the power of the Lord Is moving in this place.

The Father’s Love (Matthew 27:11-26) 11 Now Jesus stood before the governor. Are you the king of the Jews? the governor asked him. Jesus answered, You say so. 12 While he was being accused by the chief priests and elders, he didn’t answer. 13 Then Pilate said to him, Don’t you hear how much they are testifying against you? 14 But he didn’t answer him on even one charge, so that the governor was quite amazed. 15 At the festival the governor’s custom was to release to the...Continue reading

Our Mission Identity (Micah 6:3-8) 3 My people, what have I done to you, or how have I wearied you? Testify against me! 4 Indeed, I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from that place of slavery. I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam ahead of you. 5 My people, remember what King Balak of Moab proposed, what Balaam son of Beor answered him, and what happened from the Acacia Grove, to Gilgal so that you may acknowledge the LORD’s righteous acts. 6 What should I bri...ng before the LORD when I come to bow before God on high? Should I come before him with burnt offerings, with year-old calves? 7 Would the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams or with ten thousand streams of oil? Should I give my firstborn for my transgression, the offspring of my body for my own sin? 8 Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the LORD requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God. I Surrender All 340 Salvador, a Ti Me Entrego 1 Salvador, a ti me entrego y obedezco sólo a ti All to Jesus, I surrender; All to Him I freely give; Mi guiador, mi fortaleza, todo encuentra mi alma en ti I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live. (Refrain) Yo me entrego a ti, yo me entrego a ti I surrender all, I surrender all, Mis flaquezas y pecados, todo traigo a ti All to Thee, my blessèd Savior, I surrender all. 2 Te confiesa sus delitos mi contrite corazón All to Jesus I surrender; Humbly at His feet I bow, Oye Cristo, mi plegaria, yo suplico tu perdón Worldly pleasures all forsaken; Take me, Jesus, take me now. 3 A Tus pies yo deposito por entero hoy mi ser All to Jesus, I surrender; Make me, Savior, wholly Thine; Que Tu espíritu me llene y de Ti sienta el poder May Thy Holy Spirit fill me May I know Thy power divine 4 Oh qué gozo encuentro en Cristo cuánta paz a mi alma da All to Jesus I surrender, Lord, I give myself to Thee; Yo a su causa me consagro y su amor, mi amor será Fill me with Thy love and power, Let Thy blessing fall on me. I Stand Amazed 1 I stand amazed in the presence Of Jesus the Nazarene, And wonder how He could love me, A sinner condemned, unclean. Refrain: How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be: How marvelous! How wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me! 2 For me it was in the garden, He prayed: Not my will, but Thine. He had no tears for His own griefs, But sweat-drops of blood for mine. 3 He took my sins and my sorrows, He made them His very own; He bore the burden to Calvary, And suffered, and died alone. 4 When with the ransomed in glory His face I at last shall see, ’Twill be my joy through the ages To sing of His love for me.
