The very little bit of color during last night's sunset over Lake Tahoe. Taken from Upper Truckee Marsh. ISO 640, f/11, 1/60s, 55mm

The moonset on Saturday night. Taken less than a 100yds from my driveway. It was pretty cold (15 deg), but worth it with shots like this. I'm still learning my new Sony mirrorless camera & how to edit the images it produces, but I'm getting the hang of it. I could've probably shot at a lower ISO, but those are things you learn with a new camera. Sony a7rii, ISO 4000, f/6.3, 5sec, 36mm. South Lake Tahoe, CA. 2/21/21

A 3-image pano I took last night. Clearly the potential was there for a stunning sunset, but it wasn't meant to be. Although I'm more than happy to get this image out of it. Shot on Sony a7rii. 28mm, ISO 400, f/9, 1/320s. Edited & stitched together in Lightroom. Upper Truckee Marsh, South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Just a few shots I took yesterday afternoon. The roads were awful & full of tourist traffic so I didn't go on an actual photo adventure like I wanted. At least I got these. One good image a day is all I need. I hope everyone had a good weekend after that great storm on Weds & Thursday of last week.

If anyone is curious about how I edit photos, LR has a cool feature that lets me share a step by step of them. The camera really failed to capture the amazing colors of the lake, the sky, and the trees & foliage on Mt. Tallac. Kurt has shared an inspirational edit from the Lightroom community with you: Fallen Leaf Lake Reflection https://lightroom.app.link/cXdAxn5R5cb

Friday night's sunset, aka the first sunset of 2021. I managed to get a short break from work and got to Upper Truckee Marsh just before the colors went away. Happy New Years everyone. #TahoeSnaps #KeepTahoeBlue #kurtbuttstadtphotography

I found one more from the sunset on Nov. 9th (Monday). I've always liked utilizing my telephoto lenses and compressing an image. Sony a7ii, 55mm, 500 ISO, f/5.0, 1/250s. I was shooting handheld hence the open aperture. I couldn't sacrifice any shutter time & I'd much rather open lens up than raise my ISO.

Last night's sunset from Party Rock. It was a short sunset and it was extremely windy (40mph) & cold, so I didn't stay long, but all I ever need is one or two keepers for the photo adventure, no matter how long, to be a success.

"All water is holy water' - Rajiv Joseph One more from Monday Nov. 9th, 2020 @ Upper Truckee Marsh in South Lake Tahoe, CA Sony a7ii, f/3.5, ISO500, 1/250s. I had to shoot using shutter speed priority because I was shooting handheld. I wasn't dressed to bring & use my tripod. ... Thanks for looking! Stay safe! Also, I salute all veterans today. Hopefully you are enjoying peace, friends, & family.

I caught the end of last night's sunset. I'm not used to the cold so I quickly froze, but I managed to get a few captures I was proud of. And there wasn't a cop at the entrance stopping me from entering the nature area & stopping me from taking sunset photos! (see Instagram feed for more on that)

I just took 5mo off from Facebook. I will be taking another long hiatus in a few days, but before that I wanted to share some recent shots. Stay safe! (I'm also on Instagram as @KGB_Images and I post there a lot more frequently)
