Story of Devops Openings nowadays: JD: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.... - 3+ years of experience with Red Hat or other Linux OS. - 2+ years of experience with Puppet or Chef. - 2+ in Containers like Kubernetes, Docker. - 3+ years of experience with KVM for virtualization. - 2+ years of experience with Jenkins for continuous deployment environments. - 3+ years of experience in a DevOps environment. - Knowledge of Python and Git. - Excellent Communication and presentation, monitoring and troubleshooting. At the time of interview: (Interviewer- I, Candidate-C, HR) I: Do you know Python? C: Yes at Introductory level. I: Can you tell about List comprehension and write a function about it? C: (Telling concept but making silly mistakes)... Interviewer: No, I need exact answer, don't just tell logic write the right code. C: I am not into that much but if chance given I can learn it and setup automation infrastructure using Python for sure. I (After some secs pause): Sorry we need someone who must be VERY GOOD at Python Programming at least 3+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE because anyone can learn THE TOOLS(LIKE K8s, DOCKER). After 10-20 interviews, thinking: C: I should better start preparing for Data Structure and Algorithms and apply for Software Engineering position. Meanwhile in company: I along with HR: As we are not able to find suitable candidate for Devops Engineer position, (pointing at one of Software Engg./Development dude) we should train our in-house talent..... and Position gets filled ! Quest from Users @Varun Talus Hi All, We are trying integrate k8s cluster with ldap to authenticate the users.... We are using dex and loginapp for the same. The setup is working fine. User is getting authenticated through ldap and finally we are getting the id-token. The problem is when we use this id to access dashboard, it is getting signed in but without any roles. We are not able to bind roles to the users who are authenticated. Can anyone please help here. Thanks!
