Many of our patients may have received letters about a holding group that owns THDL labs. First, it is not affiliated with True Health Center for Functional Medicine where I have my practice. Second, they are not going out of business and are still fully operational. The background is that Medicare stopped paying them about 2 years ago and they are in litigation over it. In the meantime they had to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to reorganize because of that mas...sive revenue loss for services already provided. The current THDL ownership bought the previous HDL so it is not the same company just the same lab platform. Under Chapter 11 they can continue business as usual. The notice sent out came from the bankruptcy court, not from the company. That’s why it is not user friendly info in my opinion, it’s just legal requirements. Hope that helps clarify things a bit!
