#StopAsianHate We are deeply heartbroken, shocked and outraged by the recent shootings in Atlanta that resulted in the death of 8 individuals, 6 of them Asian women and 4 of them women of Korean descent. We share the pain and grief felt by every individual touched by this senseless violence. The increasing number of hate crimes against Asian Americans across our country, especially targeting the most vulnerable in our communities -- women and seniors -- is alarming. We cond...emn all forms of violence, racism, xenophobia, sexism, homophobia and other forms of discrimination that are rooted in hate and intolerance and that victimize members of Asian American and other minority communities. We urge our elected officials and leaders in government to take meaningful actions to stop and prevent further violent tragedies and to boldly address the deep-rooted issue of racism underlying hate crimes. We are grateful to all the organizations, leaders and individuals who are tirelessly working on the frontlines against racism and hate crimes. We share some resources on our website to learn more about the issues, how to report incidents of violence, and volunteer opportunities to keep our community safe.
