On Saturday, August 18th, we will be having a Summer Potluck Picnic at Griffith Park! All are invited to enjoy beautiful weather, games, and to share some delicious food! Everyone is welcome to stick around afterwards for a Shakespeare in the Park production of "A Mid-Summer Night's Dream", too! For more information, please contact Michelle Nakamura at michellenakamura (at) gmail (dot) com!

Our adventure to Naples, Long Beach on December 9th began with a Duffy boat cruise around the marina, enjoying perfect weather and delicious food prepared by Akira Sato. Others joined us later for a leisurely stroll along the streets of Naples Island, in awe of houses beautifully decorated with Christmas and Hanukkah lights. After stopping to watch the Annual Naples Boat Parade, the evening concluded with delicious Italian food and wine at Picarelli’s Cucina. Our trip to Naples was a fun-filled day of activities and a chance for Konko faith followers and friends to get to know each other better. We’re looking forward to going again next year! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJgiRHWFxlM

We had an amazing turn out for Mochitsuki this year! Not only was it a successful fundraiser, it was also a great opportunity for us to work together to show appreciation for the relationships we have nurtured this past year and to celebrate these bonds we will bring into the New Year. Our mochitsuki demonstration started a little late due to a technical problem (gomen nasai!) but, those who waited patiently were pleased to have the experience and satisfaction of pounding mochi in the ways of old tradition, many for the first time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfcDMdJ5pcw
