It is my great honor to announce that our District 5240 Governor for 2023-2024 will be Marta Golding Brown from the Rotary Club of Oxnard! Marta has been a mem...ber of Rotary for over 15 years and she currently serves as our District 5240 Training Director. Professionally, Marta is the Government Affairs Director for the Ventura County Coastal Association of REALTORS based in Oxnard. Marta and her husband Forrest reside in Ventura. LSR work day at the Del Sur Elementary School site garden. This is the 5th year for the garden which is a project of the school’s Rotary Interact Club. Interact advisor, Ann Mendes, said the garden is used for teaching opportunities across the curriculum. As a bonus, It is also useful in improving behavioral issues. Thank you to Resource Building Materials in Lancaster for providing the DG delivery. Thanks also go to LSR Rotaract Club volunteers, Interact members and their parents, school administrators and LSR club members for their help in tending to the garden today.

LSR President Craig Timm and Youth Chair Rodney Jacobson went shopping for house warming presents for the Rotary District 5300 Corazon Superbuild project. Thanks to all the hardworking kids in the Leadership program at El Dorado Elementary School who raised the money to help the families who will have an actual house to live in thanks to Corazon and Rotarians in District 5300.
