Good evening Hawks, As you have likely heard in messages from the AVUHSD district office, the Antelope Valley Union High School District will be providing education to our students through distance learning, beginning on April 2 until the end of school closures, which, at this time, will extend through May 5. We recognize that not all students have access to computers or internet at home, and we are currently developing a plan to check out technology to students who need a C...hrombook or internet to access distance learning. In order to sufficiently prepare to meet the needs of our students, we need to know which students will need to check out Chromebooks. Please fill out the Chromebook Checkout Google Form for each Knight High School student in your household who will need to check out a Chromebook to access distance learning. The link to the form can be found on our website at www.khshawks.org, or as a link if you receive messages via email. We will follow up with details about the checkout process within the next week. On Thursday, March 12th we will be holding our Every 15 Minutes program, sponsored by the California Highway Patrol. 70th Street East will be closed in front of Knight High School, from R-12, to the stadium exit from 8:15 AM to 11:15 AM. You will not be able to access the school from Palmdale Blvd. and 70th Street East. During this time, emergency vehicles will be staged on 70th Street East, as part of this school wide event. Morning drop off ...and afternoon pickup will not be affected. Visitors will still be able to enter Knight High School, from Avenue R-12 to conduct school business. Please utilize Avenue S as it merges into 70th Street East. Thank you for your cooperation in making this a successful event for our students. Buenas noches familias. Good Morning Knight High School Families, This is Principal Laird. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department identified the student who allegedly circulated the social media posts last night. That student has been arrested. The Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate and monitor this matter. Increased security measures are in place this morning. School is open, with classes and activities taking place as scheduled. We sincerely appreciate those who brought this information forward, as well as all our families for their patience as we worked diligently in collaboration with the Palmdale Sheriff Department through the night.

Good Evening Knight High School Families, This is Principal Will Laird, this evening we were made aware of a threat circulating on social media related to Knight High School. Upon notification, we immediately contacted the Palmdale Sheriff’s Department, who we have partnered with to conduct a full investigation. We understand that recent tragic events, as well as the threats investigated this week in our community, have increased anxiety and concern about school safety. We assure you that this most recent post is currently being investigated and we will provide a status update as soon as reasonably possible. We ask for your patience as we allow our law enforcement partners to conduct a thorough investigation.

The AVUHSD has partnered with the Sprint One Million Project to provide FREE wifi hotspots to our students who need access to internet at home! All that's needed to sign up is to provide some information at www.tinyurl.com/wificheckout. After that, students can go to the library to pick up a permission slip. Once the permission slip is turned in, we will provide a hotspot th...at will be activated within 24 hours.
